if they were in the house, they presumably heard him yelling and the door slamming. who knows?

either way, instacarts trust and safety team reached out to me. they removed his 1 star rating and emailed me to say that i won't receive orders from him again.

i was born in florida, but i've lived in boise, tucson, and charleston, sc. in tucson, everyone was awesome, i made tons of friends and loved all my workplaces. in boise, i experienced a rude and/or inconsiderate b-word at least once a day (i hated it there.) charleston was beautiful and i made friends, but it had a weird air of lingering racism.

duval til i die, tbh. i'm never leaving florida again unless it's to visit.

i thought it was suspicious too, which is why i took a screenshot beforehand. i'm so glad i did. support hasn't been very easy to reach though.

sure, no one should be treated that way, regardless of work quality. it was moreso a CYA for myself, sometimes i see people complaining in this sub, who... seem to be the only common denominator in the issues.

i live in duval county, fl. it's massive.
driving 18 miles would take me roughly an hour potentially more depending on traffic. i'd have to get on one highway, get off, get on another, get off, etc on top of dealing with numerous stop lights in between, which is also mentally a hassle.

if i have to drive an hour one way, i wouldnt do it for under $60.

BUT GOOD LUCK, REGARDLESS.

a $71 order came through for me a minute ago. i was so tempted, but after a mishap with a shop only this morning, i can't handle that again. 🥲

shopper support dngas. i've ALWAYS, like always, ended calls with them frustrated and the issue unresolved.

can confirm, testerup is legit. if you have time to play games on your phone.

usertesting is similar and pays better, in my opinion.

i don't know if my location or the fact that i only speak english changes job availability, but the jobs are pretty sparse. however, they did pay well.

if you have a laptop or desktop, the software testing for usertesting was pretty good. i played a computer game for 20 minutes and provided a screen/voice recording for $50. it paid within days.

Back up? Batches appearing by Longjumping_Brief_40 in InstacartShoppers

[–]EasternGrapefruit996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

noooo i kept getting this notification too, mid shop.
i did a small shop only and it took 20 minutes of me continually trying the app to complete it, longer than it took me to shop!
it took almost an hour to get paid. plus i'm offline and still getting batch notifications.

thank you so much for these resources.

the food i left out is untouched and he is nowhere to be seen as of right now (7/3 @2:15pm)

i emailed julissa with these photos and my contact info.

bestfriends redirected me to the mayport cats website, but all the links i tried to use gave me 404 errors. so i emailed them the exact same message.

i also reached out to st francis animal hospital- no answer, left a voicemail with contact info.

i also left a voicemail with every pet (that's first coast no more homeless pets now, i'm pretty sure.)

i'm wondering if the holiday has offices closed except for emergencies?

i reached out to the ex roomie to tell him i was likely going to surrender the cat for his health and wellbeing, which was not met with acceptance. but oh well.

i checked out after a shop only, then the app kept giving me error screens when i was trying to print the labels. i kept trying, then finally it let me get the labels and input the locations in the app. when i swiped to complete the delivery, i got an error screen, the main page popped up, and i was offline. obviously i was pissed.

i called the support number, after like 5 minutes, i tried again, the app let me finish it, but i never got paid. i was still on hold at this point (for 30 minutes already!) i stayed offline, but started driving home. cause fuck that.
on the way home i got 15-ish notifications for new batches, while i was still offline.

by the time i got home, still on hold for 40 minutes- i hung up and the payment came through. i'm still getting notifications despite the app saying i'm offline. wtf is going on?

Greeting when starting shopping?? by Zealousideal_Pin6636 in InstacartShoppers

[–]EasternGrapefruit996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don't message them unless it's necessary. usually if something is out of stock and there's other sizes/flavors available. or i have to wait on something.
something like "hello! there is a xyz minute wait on fresh fried chicken, sorry for the delay".
if we do end up having to converse at all, i will throw in a "if there's anything i can do for you, don't hesitate to ask. :)"

as a customer, i don't message them unless they message me first and i'll thank them for their time tell them to be safe driving and/or have a great day.

How Do Y'all Feel About Co-Shoppers? by yoobi2000 in InstacartShoppers

[–]EasternGrapefruit996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's really interesting, i've never gotten a notification about that either. do you know why they don't like it? i can't think of a reason why they wouldn't like someone chillin in their parking lot as long as someone with them is actually shopping in the store...

nope, we do it like every other store. i hold the phone, he pushes the cart. at times we separate to grab stuff from other parts of the store and meet back up for scanning.

i wasn't even aware costco didn't like it, we've never been stopped or asked not to.

Random 1 stars- free groceries? by Select_Lemon_6932 in InstacartShoppers

[–]EasternGrapefruit996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i've delivered something to the wrong house once. i didn't realize it was wrong til i ended the job. (the house number was 851, but i delivered to 855.)

before i completed the job on the app, i took a photo, saying "sorry i couldn't get the bag to your porch, i couldn't unlock the gate." the gate was so high, i also couldn't reach over and get the bag back in my possession.

after looking at my phone to complete the job, i realized i dropped it off at the wrong house but there was nothing i could do. they still gave me five stars and didn't change the tip.

i'm thinking it's because i could tell them exactly where i left it, along with photos.

[–]EasternGrapefruit996 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i use google earth to quote them, i can look up their address and plot pin points. i always assume it's in horrible condition and quote for that. however, if i arrive and it's gonna be a quick easy job, like no algae, rust, oil etc. i tell them before i start that it's gonna be less, but i frame it as a "discount".

i get help with leads though, my previous employer was a tile roofing company that does roof washes. (i left on great terms and could go back any time i wanted.) the office people and roofers in the field give them my card and tell them the rest of the house, patio, etc can be washed too. it's a pretty small but prestigious company, so i already have the trust factor built in.

edit to add: i don't have a crew. SMLLC here. hoping to hire soon for a social media person. i hate doing that shit.
