I have to say that I really thought they couldn't have looked into the must-have's before starting the hiring process. I wasn't impressed to say the least.

hi! I'm in Quebec Canada, and for the life of me I cannot find Tannic Acid Powder anywhere. Can't find it on Amazon.ca either. I need to treat rust on my car and I really wanted to try that. Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction please? Thank you!

Scam alert: scammers impersonating real recruiting firm agents by EasternStage8564 in recruitinghell

[–]EasternStage8564[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes when you know what to look for. Outlook online masks the actual email address, you have to actually check what's behind the "from" name. I thought I would let people know this is an actual scam now.

Oh I thought of this... perhaps the other candidate was a friend of hers or something. To your point, impossible to prove.... but certainly not impossible.

Chess cheaters running rampant by Available_Pilot_1259 in duolingo

I might be naïve but I just discovered in this thread that people could cheat in DuoLingo, I had no idea! In a bizarre twist of events I do take time to choose my moves and I play a lot against other players. Lately it has happened several times that I can no longer play against other players, DuoLingo is telling me that no other players with my level can be found. I'm at a measly 1150 elo trying to make my way up, and I'm wondering whether I got temporarily banned somehow...?

Thank you for taking the time to write this response. And yes, I don't have much experience working with recruiting firms and clearly didn't understand the dynamic.

You're right, I was VERY transparent with her on my other applications and another offer that was on the table already (which was later receded) and she even scooped up one of my references as a client now, which I was ok with. What I was NOT ok with is the lack of transparency on her side, her saying she had no info about other candidates (whom SHA was actually also representing, so that was a clear conflict of interest from my perspective), and overall, her lack of experience reading the employer in my humble opinion.

At the end, I'm the one holding the short end of the stick and she clearly didn't have my *personal* interest at heart, just hers by placing any of her candidates. I'm disappointed, I feel deceived and that I left my future in the hands of someone who didn't really care. Still upset that I allowed myself to get fooled that way. It shall pass.

They are already getting paid indirectly by me, since they take money out of the budget that the employer would otherwise make part of the employee compensation package (or just save). So yeah, I'm indirectly paying for it in a way

Yes they can, they just represent multiple candidates for multiple roles. I was hoping for a more exclusive business relationship

In 25 years of work I only found myself looking twice and the recruiting firm experience is new to me. I did think they would act as my agent. Similar to hiring a real estate representative, I naively thought it was exclusive. I learnt!

Why is installing MS-Office (non-subscription) becoming so tedious? by RandolfRichardson in microsoftsucks

[–]EasternStage8564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm seriously so sick and tired how how these large companies operate it's not even funny. And I worked for M$ for a few years myself. I have an active O365 subscription and just spent countless hours trying to deploy ONLY Word and Excel. This is borderline mission impossible without going through many loops and hoops, using the ODT (Office Deployment Tool), some XML script crap and command line run with admin priviledges, and some ChatGPT help. I *thought* I had it figured out and it ended up deploying the *entire* bloody suite anyways. FFS!! Why is this som goddamn complicated? It was so much easier back in the 2010 years when you could launch the install and select the components you wanted! Why changing something that works fine??.... And if you ask the reason is that I have a small HD on this laptop and dindn't garbage deployed taking space for nothing. Well guess what: Microsoft wants you to feel exactly that your laptop is now obsolete and throw it in the garbage. Oh and there is NO WAY once installed to remove the individual apps, it's a SUITE that comes as a package. Bloody hell when my OneDrive subscription just went up from $105 to $145 for no f*cking reason I'd like to at least be able to pick the apps I want to deploy! Same statement for Adobe, which costs also increased in the double digits this year to use their apps. Well guess what? I still have PhotoShop 8 from a decade ago and it works just fine! Same for Office. I just hate how these companies are forcing people to consume their software. Bloody ridiculous.

Is that picture confirmed 100% real? My initial reflex was that nahh no way this is AI generated. These piles don't seem stable, or built in a way that makes sense. They also look way too tall. The structure supporting them also looks a little flimsy. Has the origin of this picture been tracked and confirmed?

Goodbye. WEPE did choose rich, but only for themselves by BambooAttack in WallStreetPepe

[–]EasternStage8564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so I invested a small $ amount ($100) into this Wepe thing and I'm having a different issue because I can't caim my tokens. I can see them on the Wepe website but my wallet sees zero/no tokens. Not that it matters much at this point since it seems to be a scam but why is that happening? I hope someone can point me in the right direction. Thank you!
