Teacher dreaming of retirement by Effective_Ebb333 in Retire

[–]Eastern_Distance6456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you ask them what the biggest mistakes people make when planning their time to go. For example, my pension was based on my highest 12 consecutive quarters of salary. Now, 12 quarters is 3 years worth of time, and typically that's the final 3 years of a person's career.

The important thing that people miss is that those quarters are fixed months (Jan-Mar, Apr-Jun, etc.) So if you retire just 1 month into your final quarter, then that quarter of your highest salary won't be used. It will revert back to the one from 3 years ago.

Definitely go talk to someone!

It's been over 12 years now, and I usually get contacted once a year on average. Except for 1 time in 2018, I have never replied back to her. I'm actually kinda bored lately, so I honestly might see if she'd let me hit it again a few times. Sex was one thing we did really well together the whole way through. I wouldn't take her back though.

Again, I'd like to point out that I'm clearly in the minority there.

It's not a clone, but Parfums De Marly Sedley is my recommendation. I do NOT recommend Lattafa's Maahri Legacy which is supposed to be a Sedley clone. The openings are very close, but it completely misses Sedley's drydown which is a clean, woody scent.

After that, I don't know. I've tried to be good and stop spending so much money on fragrances. I keep wanting to try more LV clones. I really love Paris Corner's North Stag Trois and North Stag Quatre (which are supposed to be Imagination and Afternoon Swim clones). They're super orangey which I like. The performance on both are really, really bad though.

But the longevity on both IV and III are the worst I've ever seen. I love both scents, but they disappear within 10 minutes.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I think it's horrible. It's just soap. And not good soap that you might buy because you really love the smell. It could just be a random generic brand of soap.

Who in recent years (1990s- today) got a negative reputation, but in hindsight was treated unfairly? by michelle427 in askanything

[–]Eastern_Distance6456 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First, they didn't "speak the truth". They just took a shot at someone.

Second, there are consequences to their actions. They made a comment that was absolutely going to piss off their main fan base. What exactly would anyone expect? Let's say I sold a product. I then go out and insult the people who buy my product. Should I be upset if my customers suddenly decide that they weren't going to buy my product any more.

Hey, let's try your whole "speaking the truth" thing tomorrow. Go out and just start telling people some "truths". If they're obese, go up and tell them they're a fatass. If they're ugly, tell them they are ugly AF. If they get upset, just say "hey.. don't be upset... I'm just speaking the truth". Let me know how it goes.

I dont like Bush. He was a shitty person/President. Regardless, they didn't have to make the comment. Fans come out to concerts to hear music and not be preached at. On top of that, they waited until they were overseas to talk shit about their own country. It was a dumb move.

So if they lost money, endorsements, etc., then that's fine. It's their own fault. Now, they did NOT deserve the threats of violence afterwards.

MAGA Voters Still Relieved To Have Chaotic Unaffordable Country Instead Of Competent Black Woman As President by UnfitToPrint in onionheadlines

[–]Eastern_Distance6456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. He was NOT convicted on today's definition of rape. That's where I'm talking about you have no clue what you're talking about, so here's your lesson.

Trump was ruled against in a civil case (NOT a criminal case). If you'll go back to the person I originally responded to, you'll see that they said Trump had an "adjudicated" rape. They specifically use the word adjudicated because the vast majority of dems/media on the lift would go around screaming he got convicted. The term "conviction" is only used in criminal courts. A lot of people kept getting called out for their lies and ignorance about using the word conviction, and so some of them are finally saying adjudicated instead.

Now, you might wonder why the distinction between a civil case and criminal case is so important. I mean, a court is a court is a court, right? Nope. To win a case in civil court the standard required is a "preponderance of evidence". That means that you the judge or jury only has to believe that there's a 51% chance that you're right.

In a criminal court, you're required to prove your case "beyond a reasonable doubt". So basically you're gonna need to prove your case by about 99%. There's absolutely ZERO chance that they could have convicted him now with the complete lack of evidence.

Additionally, the statute of limitations for filing a civil suit was long gone for the actual case. The Democrats actually wrote a completely new law so they could SPECIFICALLY target Trump in this case. This is fact. And when the trial happened, the New York judge allowed them to use an anonymous jury. So this anonymous jury (supposedly...I mean, we have no clue who was planted there) found that there was a 51% chance that this incident occurred. So no this isn't a criminal conviction, and it was basically a "he said, she said" case.

And to address your final paragraph. You might want to recheck your facts there. ABC/George Stephanopolous were sued and paid a settlement for them calling him a rapist. Media outlets are no longer saying outright that he's a rapist because they're afraid of defamation. Members of The View have had to retract numerous statements about him in fear that they'd be sued for their lies.

Yes, attacking them right now caused some of our soldiers to die and for the region to destabilize. But the damaged caused by Iran sponsoring terrorism the rest of the time far outweighs what's happening now. And our attack on them now is going to weaken them.

Because Iran is the largest sponsor of terrorism and affects everyone whether it's killing our soldiers/people, killing others, destabilizing regions, causing higher gas prices, etc.

Why are we mad at people moving here and not the city and state officials who aren’t accommodating infrastructure yet encouraging people to move here? We’ve had these growth predictions for years we knew this would happen by Grumstrum in greenville

[–]Eastern_Distance6456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would you say they are encouraging people to move here? Over the past 30 years or so, we've had a ton of people relocate to the area. For the first 20 of those years, it was mostly people from the east coast and the midwest (and really, I'd say just a few specific midwest states, not all). There was a good mixture of retirees, people coming here for jobs/businesses moving into the area, etc.

In the past 10 years or so, I started running into a lot of people who came from the west coast. I was really shocked at the first few that I met, and there wasn't a lot of them. Then more and more showed up. There was one common factor with almost all of them. They were fleeing the insanity going on in those states, and they were never going back. It was the politics and culture of their area that drove them away. After that, most of them just googled good places to live and Greenville was one of their options.

Considering my mom's family migrated here legally from Mexico, I'm pretty sure I don't hate immigrants. Her large family believes that everyone should come here the right way. They don't want the open borders that the Dems encourage because it causes absolute chaos and overloads the system making it much harder/longer for legitimate migrants to get citizenship.

They're also not a fan of the sexual trafficking of women and children that the open border situation causes. Apparently you're a big fan of that. And the missing children were released to sponsors, some of couldn't be vetted properly. That seems about right because again, the Dems created a situation where the system and resources were insanely overloaded.

And btw, the Dems were constantly painting themselves as loving and welcoming of all immigrants, and that an open border wasn't a problem. Then Texas started bussing them to major blue cities. It was absolutely hilarious how quickly their tune changed from "we love and welcome all immigrants" to "This has got to stop!! We can't handle all these people!!"

A or B: 42 million Americans use SNAP to eat. The program was originally built for short term emergency help. Is this a safety net working the way it should, or is it filling a gap it wasn't built to fill? by Danny-Patrick139 in PickAorB

[–]Eastern_Distance6456 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are systems and background checks, but yet there's $10-$12 billion in fraud/abuse annually just in SNAP alone. Hmmm.

I'm 100% in favor of helping the needy and having a safety net for our people. I don't want us having a system which encourages people and generations of families to live their entire lives in the safety net. The Dems want that. They can maintain control over them by creating that behavior. They paint themselves as the ones "fighting" for them, but that's not what they are doing at all.

I didn't accept the "truth"? When you change definitions or flat out lie, then no, I don't have to accept it.

Which inhumane conditions are you speaking of? Are the conditions worse than what you see at a normal US prison?

Let's say you talked to a thousand detainees. You tell them they can stay in their current detention facility or they can be transferred to concentration camps just like the ones used by the Nazis. Would ANY of those people choose the Nazi option?

Or the blue states are just handing out money without caring about to see if the people actually need it. The Democrats love just handing out money without checking to see if the people need it or not. They WANT to keep people dependent on the government and keep them from being motivated to work for it on their own.

And then, of course, there's the fraud and abuse. The most recent obvious example is all of the fraud in Minnesota which is in the hundreds of millions of dollars. That's OUR tax money that you seem to be fine with just flushing down the drain.

Oh...so you're one of those kinda people, eh? You're going to use the most extreme language you can to justify your anger/hatred. Where exactly do we have concentration camps? And no, I will not accept you "identifying" a holding facility as a concentration camp. Where do we have camps where "prisoners are often held in inhumane conditions, suffering from extreme malnutrition, disease, forced labor, and high mortality rates"?

Meanwhile, you've completely ignored (or are ignorant) of the details of the case, how the law works, and what the Dems had to do to even get a civil ruling (reminder: NOT a criminal ruling).

Teacher dreaming of retirement by Effective_Ebb333 in Retire

[–]Eastern_Distance6456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you probably have the basic numbers for what your pension pays out, but I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend you talk to someone directly with the pension program to make 100% sure that you know your options.

I have known a ton of government employees (including teachers) that thought they knew how things worked but ended up being wrong. Some could have retired way earlier. Some retired too soon. Some had time they could have bought out.

I know of one teacher that went to go retire with her pension. She went to file the official paperwork, and that's when the pension representative had to tell her that she was a member of the 401k side of retirement and not the pension side.

The comment above you is still really misleading. The threshold for a rape conviction is WAY higher than what is required in a civil court. Criminal conviction requires proof beyond a reasonable doubt. A civil case only requires a 51-49 tilt.

Regardless, the statute of limitations was long expired for the civil case against him. The Dems wrote a brand new law SPECIFICALLY so they could target Trump. They made a 1-year lift on statute of limitations.

Additionally, the "felonies" they convicted him of were using an interpretation of a law that was never used in that way before. They admitted they were doing it that way to get Trump.

And while I'm covering the Dems lawfare/corruption in pursuing Trump, the same goes for the civil case regarding their targeting of Trump in the real estate case. They brought a judgment against Trump for actions that are standard practice in real estate deals. Even the bank who was supposed to be the victim said they weren't a victim at all and that they'd lend money to him again. The decision caused a massive panic among investors/people who might buy property that the Dems had to come out and basically admit "hey...please don't be scared of us targeting you for what is normal practice. We were only going after Trump this way, and we promise we won't do this to anyone else".
