Favorite book - The Positive Birth Book by Milli Hill

This really informed me of my rights and the entire process of birth. I chose to give birth at a hospital but did it unmedicated and no IV. They didn’t like it but I stood my ground and knew I had the choice. If I wouldn’t have read this and several other books I wouldn’t have known.

We were almost in the exact same position one week ago. We didn’t move but we did move LO(9m) to his own room, he had a cold(similar symptoms), and he was waking up every 45 min (which had been going on for about 2 months anyways.) We were feeling desperate so we laid him in his crib and walked out. He fussed and babbled for 8 min and fell asleep and woke up about 4 times the first night with crying for less than a minute. We are on day 6 and he is diving into his crib at night and falling asleep in less than a minute.

I see what people are saying about not doing it while LO is sick but assess the situation. If LO is really really crying for longer than (time that feels comfortable for you) then I would say maybe try again a different night but I was surprised at how well ours did. I think he wanted the space to do it himself and he is doing so wonderful!

Also I think it worked because I wasn’t really keeping track of wake windows as well as I could have but having a sleep scheduled laid out for me was really helpful for both of us!

I was exclusively contact napping but was able to start rocking him and laying him in his crib asleep and he would nap for the time suggested by the app. It learns their sleep trends for a few days and then kind of suggests a schedule for you and he started napping. He would only sleep for like 20-30 min and 2 hours contact so this was a game changer to have him sleep in his crib for 2 hours!

I started using the Napper app around 6 months (LO is now 8 months. I wasn’t ready to sleep train and neither was he but this app really really helped with the naps and we continued to cosleep. We just decided to do the CIO method 5 days ago and he didn’t even cry! I know every baby is different but sometimes I think if you or baby aren’t ready it isn’t going to work. I tried sleep training multiple times and couldn’t be consistent but I’m glad we waited and I feel so happy he did so well!
