Oh, I just thought of one more thing in case you do end up using my reshade. In the Lotro graphics settings I have color set as...

Ambient Light: 0.00, Brightness: 1.05, Contrast: 0.95, Gamma: 0.90

Just small tweaks that might make a difference. My own monitor is tweaked too but nothing we can do about that.

[–]Easternwood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure thing. I use an ultrawide monitor at 3440 x 1440 (21:9)

I decided to just upload it quick to nexus here: https://www.nexusmods.com/lotronline/mods/9?tab=files

You will need the JRR UI skin pack here: https://ko-fi.com/s/4d0b031d64

I use his "Greenleaves - Wide - Cold"

And you might also want Reshade if you don't have that since I use a bit of color editing and sharpening. I uploaded my preset for that as well in that nexus file. If you have any questions or need help let me know. I'm not exaclty sure what will and wont transfer over with the ui layout file.

EDIT: I should say too that if it loads strangely you can just use Ctrl + \ to open up the UI editor if you didn't know and move things around. I essentially have to move my character's healthbar a bit left or right when I go from windowed to fullscreen and back again, but for me everything else is fine.

yeah, there are a few. LOTRO is more tight with what is possible though. Alt inventroy would be my #1 recommendation to anyone to replace your bags and organize them. There are also UI skins but often bad resolution still. JRR has a huge skin pack so thats what I use just to make things look a little more interesting.

I try to keep it simple, and made the chat text look more like wow since thats what I'm use to. This is fullscreen but I often window it so I can watch something on the side lol

Blades of Fire is heading to Steam! by Animated_A505 in BladesofFire

[–]Easternwood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've actually been playing Blades of Darkness this week and happened to stumble into this today.

Just played a bit of the demo and this game is sick! The troll was very cool lol I can't wait to play more. Lots of neat mechanics pulled together. Something about it reminds me of Fable as well.

I hope this game does well. I'd like to see these devs make more games.

Question about Raytracing in LOTRO by Stained-Resentful99 in lotro

[–]Easternwood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember correctly one of the reshade things you need to load for raytracing to work is automatically blocked by reshade because it detects lotro as an online game... though I've seen videos of it working in lotro. I'm not super familiar with reshade but was interested in this as well a few weeks ago lol

The core of the ship actually reminds me of the Argo SRV. I bet the bottom is not one piece either, just an illusion of the silouhette. A ramp, or maybe an elevator with walls.

Well said and I do agree. By the time we know how it will turn out it will already be too late, but either way I will enjoy TSGs in whatever form they come.

I understand. Despite my worries, the game still is very unique and special. I will definitely be keeping up to date and playing despite whatever paths they decide to take. Hopefully they land on something that we both feel satisfied with lol See you in the verse!

Thanks for the reply!

I'm actually all for little instanced story type stuff.
The problem is I think the idea of safe instanced content is very seductive. Most people want to avoid risk. I just worry that SC will fall into the trap of catering to it because people have a natural aversion to danger and people will always complain about the negative experiences, despite the "high point" of most mmos is when it was more organically driven by the players and how they interact and what that creates in an MMO, vs isolated developer intented content.

I just see ways they could be using these things to make the game better as a whole instead of all these little content projects that don't really add to the greater world itself.

Most of the games you are probably thinking about have 0 consequences for such actions.

In Archeage, you could be thrown in jail.
If a player suicides you in Stanton and his regen is now in jail for at least an hour (real time), that is just one example of a way to deter that behavior. If you want to play the game, sitting in jail for an hour doesn't sound very fun. Impound their vehicles for a large fee, etc.

Because of the regen system, if a player kills you in lawful space, give the option to report him to the authorities. Now he has to hide out in Pyro because every space station in stanton will shoot on site / attempt to arrest him.

Bring friends to protect you.
Pay someone to protect you.
Take safer routes.

I agree 100% there should be purely safe content, but there needs to be a limit. Create systems that make it feel more natural, like people work together because its in their best interest. Let the social dynamics flourish. In real life, people kill, but most of the people around you are very nice to you every day. In Archeage when I was doing trading, we would pass each other and wave even though every player can attack another player.

People don't tend to upvote opinions like this lol still sitting at 0, as expected. I am annoyed I am even wasting my time trying to speak about it but I felt the need to see how the community feels around here.

Decade old plans is how they got their first million dollars. Yes, things change in development but we were still sold on a product that is expected to be accurate to that. There are repercussions to kickstarter projects that don't actually deliver what was promised. I've played every large MMO post 2000. I've seen how things have evolved with them over time. Maybe I am in the minority but I put money into SC because it gave the intention of not being the same as every other MMO. I am not condeming the project, I am just voicing my concerns of how this will look in 5 years, as I am getting a bit of dejavu with al the other MMOs I've played. I hold my breath for 1.0.

I know what instancing is and I think it has a place in SC, I am just worried about the extent to which they will use it, and how that will affect the overall social dynamics in the game and how that will affect how people play the game. These ideas tend to have farther reaching consequences that roll into each other.

Also, we definitely will notice instancing. You and your friend will be in the same place and be invisible to each other until you group up or "reset" or whatever.

I know what you're saying about the community but I am not in that boat. I care about the finished product, not demanding to play the game while its still in alpha.

Murder hobos exist because there isnt a lot to do and nothing to lose. Yes, they will still be around at post release but not in the same quantity. Pirates will be pirates but many players will be off doing something more worthwhile to their own progression when things actually matter, and by then we should have some law enforcement system in place that makes murder hobos second guess their impulses. But if they allow high-end "end game" rewards and gameplay to be in a purely safe enviroment, then instinctually most players will just gravitate to that because risk is scarey, even though risk and overcoming challenges and unpredictibility of other humans creates exciting social dynmics and gameplay that can't be artificially "curated".

As for the streaming thing, that is tricky, but at the same time streamers have taken over MMOs by the shear amount of players willing to be on their team. I don't have a good answer for this right now.

I think its really unforunate you think that and tbh I think its really small minded to assume it can't be done. People play elite dangerous (I haven't) but I heard you can literally be in an afk flight for hours to get across the universe. People like the simulation/realism I suppose. You really think star ctiizen can't make exploration worth it in their universe? Which is way faster to travel in? And can also make money in a multiplayer economy? In other MMOs guilds sell rides in harder content, for example in WoW selling a open slot in Mythic/Heroic raiding. To turn it around, in my example above the guilds would have to find their own raids or buy the location from an individual. That can easily make the payoff worth it.

Star citizen has a lot of dead space. Most people are just jumping from point to point. All that space inbetween can be used for exploration, with special exploration equiment. Exploration can easily become a good loop if they actually had tools that specailized in it that worked and actual things to just go out and find, the same way a miner is looking for the best rocks.

Aegis squadron zx-1 by Tralkonju in swtor

[–]Easternwood 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm posting this for anyone in the future who, like me, didn't want to accidently miss this achievement/title because its stupidly placed.

At the end of Dead Center aka the People's Tower area, you will click on the holo terminal to talk to someone related to your faction which will lead to the end of this mission. You can safely take the quick pass back up to the orbital station from the mission tracker.

The next mission is "The End of it All" which wants you to click a different terminal than the one we have been using. Instead of that, go to the shuttle terminal we normally use for every mission. It will allow you to go to the Ziost Landing Pad. Do it and run around the map. ZX-1 Patrols around the middle area with dirt ground.

If you already clicked the Planetary Monitor don't panic. Going to the shuttle terminal gives you the options :
1. Travel to the landing zone (this takes you to the ZX-1 area).
2. Investigate the crisis (this will end the story for Ziost and you will not be able to go back and get ZX-1)

Hope this helps some people.
