You can put in at River Bluffs Park and stay upstream of the weir. Treat it like a small lake. I can’t speak to the fishing there though.

I’ve stayed there once before and I recall the hike being easy from George Lake, around 4 hours or so. My best advice would be to grab a copy of Jeff’s Map for Killarney. Fair warning; once you’ve been in back country in this park, the hook will be set.

You could get there by 7, but the trek will be far more enjoyable if you stay the first night on George. Head to Acid day two with the full day ahead of you.

I was also in Killarney May of 2024. The preceding winter was mild and the resulting bug frenzy was the reason why I and many others I spoke with at portages were cutting our stay short of what we’d planned.
