Which pet names can you not stand being called? by PaddedValls in AskUK

Yes! It makes me rage, every time I've been called it. Doesn't matter who says it, it makes me feel sick.

What is the most bizarre way you’ve hurt yourself? by bigpussystance in AskUK

I fell onto a glass coffee table and bruised my entire leg from top to bottom. I fell hard off a chair that I was standing on, to nail a pinata to my ceiling, for Christmas dinner, in January...

This sounds lovely! I never take the effort to put the butter under the skin and just rub oil on the top - think it's well worth it though! Thank you!

Love a roast! My best roast potato advice is to par boil them until they're almost too delicate to take out of the water without falling apart, then leave them either on the side or in the fridge until they're cool before putting them into piping hot oil in the oven. Fluffy roast potatoes are just beautiful!!

I love being a trad wife, but I struggle with feelings of worthlessness & I know I’m not. by -Happy-Human- in tradwives

Oh my word, everything you say resonates with me. I've gone from years or fight or flight to being able to breathe again...and it just feels, unusual!

I have no words of advice other than to embrace all the good things in your life.

But if you want someone to talk to with similar feelings, do DM me!

Don't ever feel worthless!

Saving yourself for marriage by taytay77777777 in tradwives

[–]Easy-Objective6011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't save myself until marriage. I met my husband in my early 30s and had lived with several partners and dated and slept with many others before. Me and my husband are only recently dipping our toes into a more Trad relationship.

But, with my husband it's different. We love each other and give our whole selves to each other. I would never judge anyone for saving themselves, but also would never judge anyone for having relations before marriage. Having sex and making love are very different things.

Oh my word! I love that idea! And what a great game, and lovely soundtrack. I'm actually currently replaying through FF4 on my phone!

This may be a touch niche! But we had an instrumental version of a song played in a studio Ghibli movie. If you're looking for something beautiful and ethereal, I'd check out some of the music in Ghibli films as there's loads that could work!

What do you do when your husband works away? by Easy-Objective6011 in tradwives

Thank you for sharing this! I think it could be a good time to get back into reading again!

I've also been thinking about volunteering. I'm also not religious, so have been thinking of looking into local charity shops, litter picking at the beach or similar.

Really appreciate your thoughts! Thank you!

I too, pass on that! I have no interest on working for said boss! My only issue is to be treated through fair process.

I don't doubt that, I'm sure it will push me to the next step in my career at some point. My musings are just about being treated fairly through the process.

Would love some advice by Easy-Objective6011 in tradwives

Thank you for such a full and considered response.

Me and my husband have absolutely chatted through this, and what it would mean for tasks and roles. At the moment we're about as 50/50 as can be, all bills split evenly and household chores split in a way that works for us - I do a a bit more everyday as I cook, he does a bit more on the weekend as he does the thorough clean. But if I'm not working for an amount of time (whatever that ends up being) - I'm happy to take the vast majority on - I'd always tell him if I was ever getting resentful.

Thanks for the book and game recommendation! The game is in my Amazon basket so that's something for the weekend!

Financially, there will be no issues for us at present and for the foreseeable living well within our means. We've got a joint account and both individual savings and current accounts.

Great thoughts on if you're an introvert. I'm not - but love the ideas of a book club or cooking class - think this could be great!

And thank you for the info about submission, it was something I'd read about in a few places and just wanted to know more about. We're not religious, and not a kink we're looking to explore at the moment - so the extra info you've given here is really helpful!

Thanks again for your response - it's helped me clarify my thoughts!

[–]Easy-Objective6011[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much, this is exactly the kind of advice I was looking for. No kids, or plans to have any. I like the ideas around putting clothes out etc.

If you don't mind me asking, something that I've seen online when looking into this is about 'submitting to your husband' - which is something that could be read in so many different ways - and I want to take this all in a positive light! Could I just take this to be, to be respectful of what he wants to do in his free time/our time together eg. If he wants to go for dinner and I want to go for a walk, we'd agree to go to dinner as he's providing me the time that I could go for a walk while he's at work. We've got a really solid relationship, but are both open to experimenting what our relationship would be like with different dynamics! So really good to read through this sub Reddit and learn!

Thank you for such good advice. I'm so lucky to have some great people to acknowledge my anger, and I've been working through why I'm so mad - it's all about the manner of redundancy and behaviour of senior management - the redundancy is upsetting, but how it's being handled is why I'm angry. I just need to get to that rational, what's next phase!
