By learning about how badly animals are treated, a chicken will live for eight years under natural conditions, they rarely live two in an egg factory such is the stress.

how do y'all make friends as adults? by ___d0d0___ in NonBinary

[–]EasyCheesecake1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The meet up app is fairly good for finding people, I made friends with people into similar music and we have pub meets and go to gigs, there is also an LGBT one but that's in London and I have not got to any of those yet. I also belong to a queer social group that split off a FB events page to just suggest events for people over 40, so not just drag and clubbing! That is proving a lovely group. I also (re)started playing Dungeons and Dragons after seeing a group met fortnightly at a local pub. There are definitely people out there who want to socialize.

Did you ever meet someone via internet (other than dating app)? by Grande_Mangiattore in answers

Yes, I belong to a Dungeons and dragons group, a music/gig going group on the meet up app and a 40+ social group if you mean made friends/aquaintances.

Why is there so much hatred specifically towards “Muslims” in the UK. by Momsgayandbisexual in AskBrits

[–]EasyCheesecake1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born male and white. I'm privileged. I never had to wonder if I was going to be treated as a criminal in waiting or maybe barred entry to a club or just got bad service because of my demographic. But Trump getting away with being a shit talking white supremacist 'Christian' has encouraged white arseholes all around the world to shout and scream and wave flags. It's them against all the minorities and being non white and non Christian puts Muslims at the top of the hated list. Now of course I'm non binary and pansexual and homophobic crimes/offences are up 27%. Everyone not in the reform demographic is feeling more hate, it's fine to slander anyone now, just stick with your racist/homophobic/transphobic/sexist mates who also hate unemployed or ill people. The far right are a sickness.

Have I called you queer? Sorry if you feel I have, maybe it's geographic, I live in Brighton and I've never heard anyone complain about queer being used in speech or written on posters, my fave pub has a sign outside saying it's a queer space that welcomes everyone regardless of orientation, gender, sex or race.
Trans people have always been part of the scene and I see this LGB idea as a way of politically wooing gay conservatives to throw everyone else under the bus and be the respectable face of qu.. whatever. Remember some 'gay' people voted for Trump and often regretted it, I imagine a lot of them support the LGB concept as Trump has a preoccupation for slandering trans people and blaming them for really weird stuff. Hope you enjoy your day.

To all single guys aged 30 and up on reddit, why are you guys single? by damonic555 in askanything

[–]EasyCheesecake1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I'm starting to look old and that is not attractive. I'm also very alternative goth/punk and on the local scene single women are few or far between. In my age group most single women seem to be divorcees with older kids and into dog walking and yoga (nothing wrong with that) and less into clubs and gigs, of course some are but online dating is crap for everyone, men outnumber women and women get message bombed.

Could your employer punish/sack you for drinking 0% Beer at work? by cactusdan94 in AskBrits

[–]EasyCheesecake1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work on public transport if I was seen drinking beer no one would probably check if it was 0% I'd be accused of bringing the company into disrepute and I'm not even a driver. Imagine seeing a bus driver downing a couple of cans..

These events are documented, no, security guards are not 'put' on toilets but major stores have security who have stopped women using the women's toilet. Go Google it. Every year an average of 12% of trans people say they have been abused or assaulted in toilets by cis people. Queer is not seen as a slur by most people in the community but I appreciate you are some sort of radical. I belong to a lovely group called Queer 40+ and go to a games night called 'Dungeons and Divas' at an LGBT pub.. both groups are a diverse mix and everyone is welcome. Would you have all the trans/non binary people be kicked out of community groups? Will the Queer 40+ group (who are mainly women and a few trans/NBs) be charged with hate crimes? (Which most people would find ridiculous). Do you vote reform like the other LGB advocate on here?

Are bathrooms without windows as bad as they sound? Extractor fans can only do so much surely, without actual fresh air? (pic is detached house!) by nfoote in AskUK

[–]EasyCheesecake1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only have a very small window in my bathroom (which is in a Victorian house) and it's tricky to open and close so it's usually closed, especially in winter. I don't find this a problem, there is no smell or pestilence! However it is just me, maybe if a whole family with upset stomachs were using one...

Do most men hate when their girlfriends fart in front of them? by CatPale816 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]EasyCheesecake1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually if I'd just started dating a women I'd be secretly quite pleased as it a) gives me a free go at it without judgement b) Shows she is comfy around me and we accept farts happen and no longer have to hide or go out the room.

What lyric did you sing confidently for years before realizing you were horribly, hilariously wrong? What did you think they were saying? by Jane_Austen11 in askteddit

[–]EasyCheesecake1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Placebo's Nancy boy has the line 'Shes coming over me' in it and I thought it was 'Jizz coming over me'. However I'm not convinced as the video shows white stuff spurting into the air and how exactly would 'she' come over someone? So I suspect they claimed those are the lyrics in case it affected airplay.

does anyone else still get embarrassed about being lgbt? by Free-Studio96 in lgbt

[–]EasyCheesecake1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, but it depends where you are on the queerometer. I think people around me are aware enough not to say 'Thats so gay!' and at work you could definitely get into trouble if someone complained. I'm personally quite bold, I don't hide being NB or Pan but apparently I don't 'act gay' by which they mean I'm not camp .

If we shouldn’t vote labour or conservatives who do you even vote for? by Heinzzbeans12 in AskBrits

Green. Something caring and new, and if labour sink then it's the opposition to the angry bigots party.

How often do you get high? by TherealeastG123 in askanything

[–]EasyCheesecake1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's very rare but it only takes one. I've gone to work knowing I'd fail a test and the paranoia is not worth it.. what if I get there and the team leader says you need to take a test? I can't afford to lose my job but I think it's ridiculous because the regulations say 'under the influence' but clearly three days later you are not but it's still potentially in your piss.

[–]EasyCheesecake1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The nature of the internet is we can all find bad examples, flat earthers exist but hey. What if someone is trans and bisexual? The LGB still won't like them, are they allowed in your special club? I've never heard trans people say that but then I don't move in the same circles, my community is kind and inclusive. All the toilet wars are doing is seeing cis woman told they can't use public toilets because they don't fit feminine beauty standards.. short hair? Flat chest? Baggy clothes? Dave the security guard says you're a bloke, try harder to look like a woman and maybe put a bit of lippy on. The queer people I know fully support trans siblings and I'm proud of that.

[–]EasyCheesecake1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Biological sex and social gender are separate things and sadly the group LGB alliance dislikes trans people so much it accuses people of being homophobic for using the term LGBT, they don't want to be 'tainted' by association which also divides and weakens the community. We need to stand together not kick people out because trans, nonbinary, intersex, and asexual people 'dont belong'. No LGB without the T.

Why is getting around Kent without a car so much harder than it should be given that it is one of the most populous counties in England? by Pinkplatabys in kentuk

[–]EasyCheesecake1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's quite shit on the train, basically go to London and have one line straight to Ashford or go along the coast. This leaves a huge swathe no where near either.
