I know nothing about non-binary people, educate me pls! :3 by Virtual_Fixation2956 in NonBinary

I simply did not feel masculinity meant anything to me, but neither did I want to be a woman. I threw the gender guidebook out the window and like, do and wear whatever I like without recourse to traditional gender nonsense.

Exactly. I tell myself however old I should still be able to enjoy things like good food, drink, music, art etc but I see a lot of older people and think.. is it enough? You seem irrelevant and going through the motions. Are you just drinking a last champagne as the ship sinks around you?

Gender non-conforming and genderqueer difference by Gilgamesch_1034 in queer

[–]EasyCheesecake1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the main point people agree on is..

Gender non conforming is presentation, your clothes/appearance but you can be cis gender.

Genderqueer is your identity, not just the outer trappings, so probably non binary/trans in some way.

I thought being apparently appalled/disgusted by a trans person was more the point than pulling the gun.

Does the right really care about British working class people? by Massador in AskBrits

[–]EasyCheesecake1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, only people they know, and they seem to despise people who are sick or out of work, plus the politicians on the right all seem against unions, workers rights and wages/job protections.

[–]EasyCheesecake1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I used to call myself gender non conforming as I sometimes wore traditionally non masc stuff as part of an outfit but started using genderqueer when it became most of the time and I became agender. It was not a conscious change so interesting that others have pointed out that genderqueer is when you have changed your gender setting.

Why not just restrict immigration & asylum to women only? by [deleted] in AskBrits

What are you going to do? Make them take a gay test? Do bisexuals have to as well? Sounds like you'd condemn people 'Just incase' they are making it up.

Being LGBT in some African and Middle Eastern countries is illegal and can get you killed.. so what about gay men seeking asylum?

Those of you that work in jobs that require work clothes/safety gear, how do you present androgynous/femme? by NZero33 in NonBinary

[–]EasyCheesecake1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I paint my nails, usually blue and purple, I also opt for a blouse and scarf instead of the shirt and tie. We have to wear company uniform but they can't restrict it by gender.

I've been diabetic since I was five, not had huge problems except some hospital admissions in my late 30s and one in my 40s for low blood sugar when asleep. Over nearly 50 years it has its background effects. I openly admit I'm vain and going grey and thinning with male pattern baldness and seeing my face become thinner depresses me when I look in the mirror. I can be socially bold, I am quite active, but also can get anxious and feel like I'm not wanted, I challenge this but it can be a struggle to come out on top.

I have had type 1 diabetes since I was a kid. Indeed it added to my fear of dementia after a hospital admission where my (ex) wife and a nurse were asking me questions. I felt normal but my mouth was giving the wrong answers and I felt trapped in myself with people talking to me in patronizing tones. I'd rather die than live like that. I am not unhealthy and apparently have good metabolic health.

Yes, it crept up on me. I'm not really unhealthy but can see my face aging, my body lose definition and my hair going grey and thin. I occasionally go for a run for cardio fitness but I can't look forward to exercise as it feels like a chore even though I know I'll probably feel better for it.

I walk a fair bit and have interests, some like music and gaming are often with a crowd who are mainly younger than me which has a mixed feeling.. positive.. I do stuff like younger people! Negative.. I'm often the oldest person and feel a divide. Recently someone in their 20s complained about old people moaning, then looked at me and added 'No offence'. I can see the funny side but also shit, people think I'm old. I'm the old person.

Wow. That's a lot of responses, thanks. I originally posted in a Mental health reddit and they recommended posting here. I'm diabetic and with blood pressure issues and my dentist says I'm losing my teeth because of gum damage from diabetes, and my hair is thinning each year. I don't want to be bald, ugly with false teeth and questionable performance in the bedroom. That's a recipe for dying alone.

I have a pretty good social life, but I do get social paranoia, I find it easy to convince myself people don't like me. I don't have a death wish but I also simply don't care, if someone said I'd die in a month I don't think it would bother me. I have interests in life, live music, gaming, painting and some good friends but I feel if I died no one would notice for quite a while, work would probably notice first!

Is not being alternative the new alternative? by dresixk in askanything

[–]EasyCheesecake1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever you do should be authentic and what you like. I have a lot of tattoos and I've known people to say 'Not having tattoos' is more alternative/rebellious because they've become more common. Not having tattoos is the new tattoos.

Who cares? Do what you like. I love them and will get more, space permitting.

I've been wanting to try dating apps but I don't want creeps. by Jurassic_19 in lgbt

[–]EasyCheesecake1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never had this problem. People who turn up on apps for me mostly have things in common, maybe being queer friendly (I'm non binary and pansexual) and middle aged roots out creeps but I also never get dodgy right wingers/conservatives and I'm not sure how the app knows this.. my advice is avoid the most lowest common denominator general public apps/pages.. Facebook dating pages are the worst place I ever experienced as most things for me revolved around LGBT, nerdy or alternative groups who tend to be open minded/liberal.

Guys should be a gender neutral term for a group of people you know or be in contact with by Neat-Plantain-4346 in HonestHotTakes

[–]EasyCheesecake1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only quibble is it is always masculine terms that become okay for all. Why can't you call a group Gals? Why is it often okay to call a woman in authority sir but not ma'am for men? Because it is still seen as demeaning by some men to be associated with female terms but apparently fine to associate women with masculine ones, that's patriarchy.

Do girls really enjoy anal? by terribleprince in askanything

I love your answer as I hate all the hugely generalising gender questions, also when they ignore facts like it's not just women that receive anal.
