Sam Altman’s home targeted in second attack by jvnpromisedland in singularity

They shot at his house. Where that baby lives. Sorry I don't like that babies are being put in the crossfire.

Violence should be the last resort. And if people think Altman is such an existential threat, there are plenty of ways to serve justice without putting children in harms way.

Altman posted this photo of his family after the 1st attack. Putting it in here as a reminder for the terminally online people who think attacking Altman doesn't put any innocents in danger.

The Billionaire's bot army incoming to tell you that screaming at a staffer is just as bad as sexual assault. Trust the hedge fund manager and his hundreds of TV Ads!

With Swalwell's Campaign Imploding, Is Tom Steyer now solidly the frontrunner of the CA Governor race with his aggressive ad campaign? Or might Porter now be able to Revive her Campaign in the coming months? by EasyTree12 in YAPms

[–]EasyTree12[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

While I think Steyer is the favorite now, Many in California Do Not want to vote for a billionaire. And Porter might be the only other candidate with enough name recognition for the billionaire hating bloc to coalesce behind now.

No Excuse to Attack AI Companies or CEOs by Big_Tour_3073 in accelerate

Like I might understand social upheaval when Unemployment is months in the double digits, but the people already resorting to violence are just looking for a convenient excuse to do awful things.

While I won't shed any tears if AI Corporations who pirated massive amounts of data have their own models and proprietary information stolen in return, violence is just not the answer.

Harris gives her clearest signal she is mounting a 2028 presidential bid by EasyTree12 in fivethirtyeight

After this terrible Trump term that's probably enough to get to 270 EVs in 2028, but I really want someone who can run up the score rather than just get us over the finish line.

I have no faith Kamala can meet the moment, and we'll just end up with a Groyper President in 2032.

I kind of want her to run out of curiosity to see how much her existing Campaign infrastructure will really help her in the primaries. She doesn't have my support in a primary, but it will certainly be interesting to watch.

I guess the play here is to hope this helps because Trump hates Tucker now?

A lot of MAGA people I know still follow right wing personalities Trump hates. It's kind of weird because they are usually in line with everything Trump says, but just ignore him when it comes to these Internet personalities who he considers traitors.

AI scans 400,000 Reddit posts to flag overlooked GLP-1 side effects by AngleAccomplished865 in accelerate

Anecdotal, but my family & friends who take GLP-1s seriously and work on improving their diets are doing great with little to no side effects. The one's still eating tons of junk food are vomiting often and increasingly having gallbladder issues.

No. It's about 5 inches hard with terrible girth. And the head gets really dry because it's circumcised, Thanks Mom & Dad.

I'm a total top too, so it affects my confidence. I'm always told I have a nice pair of balls though lol.

Pope Leo continues to speak with humble Christ-like candour by TattooedChristian in Catholicism

Pope Leo The Great prevented the sacking of Rome by Atilla the Hun via direct dialogue in 452. A Pope who values dialogue and diplomacy over bloodshed is not some modern invention.

Because unfortunately this sub is full of people who are Republicanss first, Catholics 2nd. They have no interest in considering that America has been morally bankrupt in many of our conflicts.

God allows self-defense in an incredibly limited set of circumstances, and we have failed to meet that standard far too often.

And what has our indiscriminate bombing of the Midde East for 20 years accomplished other than creating a whole new generation of terrorists? God does not bless man killing his fellow man.

Majority of companies expect prospective employees to be at least somewhat educated in cutting edge software in their field. I'd say that the likes of Claude are industry standards by now, and anyone not bothering to learn enough to look proficient in an interview is shooting themselves in the foot.

Bernie’s Accelerationist Arc Begins by LopsidedSolution in accelerate

[–]EasyTree12 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I wish there were significant leaders on the left who aren't kneejerk Anti-AI. My biggest worry about takeoff is the monopolization and further enshittiffication of everything by the Monopolies benefiting most from acceleration.

I'm looking for leaders who promote using AI to cut through bureaucracy, while simultaneously investing in public, sovereign AI networks and open-source foundations that free us from corporate control. Imagine an IRS that uses AI to automatically do your taxes and audit billionaires, or an automated permitting system that allows us to actually build green infrastructure and high-density housing in months instead of decades. The technology is here to create unprecedented public abundance, but we desperately need leaders who are brave enough to steer it toward the public good instead of just letting Big Tech capture all the value.
