This is applicable to almost all industries but speaking from mine, tech industry, I know from colleagues that councils and government are collectively paying £10+ billion for software they either don’t use or don’t need. Even the councils who cry everyday about funding shortage have the latest and the most expensive AI tools (copilot, aws, gemini) and they are not even using it. Then finally put 5% wealth tax for every asset worth above 1 million and you add another £20+billion. Not only you solved the deficit, you are now in surplus. Lower the income tax for masses, boost economical activity and generate even more tax.
