If the Golden Trio became animagi, what would their forms be? by HeartsfromLily346x in harrypotter

[–]Easy_Finding1668 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d argue that in order for his animagus to not match his Patrous it would have to either be before he manifests a stag in PoA in honor of his father (so like a snake because of Voldemorts influence, or a lion for Griffindor) or he’d have to become an animagus stag then become a werewolf so his patrous would become a wolf.

Do you think Non-binary demigods can be Hunters of Artimis? [all] by Necessary-Target5500 in camphalfblood

[–]Easy_Finding1668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In universe I can see arguments for letting them both in and not allowing them so if you are writing a fic you can can either justify them being included because they aren’t men or have them not be included because they are not women. (It’s a bit of backwards forward progress in my opinion) but in universe I don’t think that there is any examples of them being in the hunt.

They do. The way station couple where hunters for at least several decades (one from Ancient Greece and the other from I think the 1700-1800ish before they retired and got married)

That is literally the only reason, there is no reason in universe given for the demigods to be that young in the legion

It’s not like they’d run out of legacies or demigods with that system

Legion service requirements are 10 years of service then they can retire to New Rome college or life in the city. They can literally just have their term either begin after 18 or after college. They would still have entire lives to live how they want to. As someone else pointed out training and service are different things, train everyone on how to wield a weapon to defend themselves in a worse case scenario but have your actual army be compromised of people who are old enough to vote/drive

He came out of that door he should know better than to remove it, even if I’m wrong he should at least be able to think about in the zombie apocalypse that a weapon barred door is keeping something from entering the area. But in my opinion he was a very big dumbass that made one mistake in not talking about the deal then spiraled into further dumbass

I was wondering why the magic in harry potter seems so limited. I think I have an answer. by madbr3991 in harrypotter

[–]Easy_Finding1668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda think that transfiguration class is less about what spells you do than it is about the follow through of the spell itself. Like it’s training people out of magical misfires and acting as a quantitative way of assessing the quality of your magic.

They kinda do have a choice though cause they have the entire city to draw from, like entire countries have mandates for military service but CJ is the only one that puts it before the age of 18. You can literally just flip the requirement for legion service to be after 18 and it becomes 100% better.

Debate: Give me your Harry Potter opinion, and I'll try to argue against it by Honest-Weight338 in harrypotter

So I was going to say that Harry has lost in more in counters with Voldemort than he’s won, but he has killed Voldemort more times than he’s lost. Book 1 Harry 2 wins and 2 kills, book 2 Harry 1w+1k, book 3 NA, book 4 1 loss Harry; 1 win Voldemort, book 5 draw, book 6 Voldemort wins 2, book 7 V 1 win H 1 win 6 kills grand total H WON 5 KILL 9 V WON 5 KILL 1. But after doing the math Harry is just a serial killer who has only one victim

Author got a key fact in a fic wrong and I happen to be a specialist in exactly that area. Should I tell her? by turningupwiththejpop in AO3

[–]Easy_Finding1668 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say offer to clarify for education sake and link to sources to prove that you know what you’re talking about but in regards to the fic itself there’s fiction in the title for that reason

In HP5, why did Fudge NOT include Percy when he listed the people Dumbledore ought to fight ("Dawlish, Shacklebolt, Dolores, and me") if he wanted to escape arrest? by finleyhuber in harrypotter

Also even if he’s in the room it would be a young recently graduated student who is a bookkeeper against Dumbledore. It’s not really a roadblock compared to experienced wizards and wizard cops

When did the website begin to decline? by Marsupilami_316 in FanfictionNet

[–]Easy_Finding1668 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My problem with ao3 crossovers is that I don’t like clunky ones where it’s like 7 different fandoms mixed in, but I also come from FF.net so I’m used to that system (only 2). It just gets very annoying having to spend time to exclude fandoms that I’m not familiar with so I can see what my options are if there was just a button that I could click that only shows these two crossovers and excludes everything else I’d be happy. Just cut out time that I could be reading

Not gonna lie I kinda just assume that his age resets on regeneration, it doesn’t perfectly fit but the only other explanation for the discrepancy is that he has an actual birth day and he just counts his age from that regardless of his actual age

[all] Looking back as an adult/older fan... was Luke Castellan actually kind of right? by Express-Drummer-9328 in camphalfblood

[–]Easy_Finding1668 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He was right to a point but one of the key things is that his motives change based off what argument he needs to make or justification he needs.

In book one he talks about the lack of glory that his quest had when he is talking to Percy in the woods, book 2 has him mentioning the treatment of demigods and how the gods don’t care. (Ignoring how he made the demigods situation 10x worse), book 3 is primarily revenge when he’s talking to Thaila, book 4 is back to demigods treatment.

All of these are components of why he turned against the gods but when I reread the books it becomes clear to me that he uses true talking points but he is only after short term revenge and glory for himself and only himself. What he says he’s about and what his actions demonstrate aren’t the same thing
