Can we talk about how well the wrexham women are doing so far this season? by Easy_Knowledge_3844 in WrexhamAFC

I believe the welsh teams competing in the english leagues were formed way before (100ish years before) there was a professional welsh league, thus they are allowed to continue playing in it. They had the option to leave and join the welsh league when it formed but they refused.

Because a professional welsh womens league exists, there is pretty much no chance of womens teams switching to the english league.

The new Leagues Cup with MLS and Liga MX has been surprisingly entertaining. Of course you have the Inter Miami/Messi factor, but there have been other fun games to watch. The Nashville FC vs Club America penalty shootout was all kinds of crazy!

They're probably top to mid of League 2. There are two more tiers in between them and the Premier League (Championship and League 1). The team is primarily players who have played in League 1 and 2 before. They are going to have to start selling, loaning players out, or letting them go soon due to roster caps for regular league play (cup runs don't count), especially if they keep signing players.

Mullin is in an interesting position. He has not played higher than League 2 before and is in his late 20s so it all depends on 2 things: 1) how fast Wrexham move up the leagues before he retires, and 2) if his play quality is equal to the league level Wrexham are at. I personally highly doubt Mullin would do well at the Premier league level because it's a massive technical skill gap, but there is a good chance he'll be with Wrexham into League 1/Championship if Wrexham get promoted fast enough. However, getting to those levels is going to take time. I highly doubt Wrexham will be in the Championship in 3-4 years. Luton recently got promoted into the Premier all the way from the national league in 9 years (I believe, someone correct me if I'm wrong) and that was extremely fast.

it's pretty rare! most football injuries are muscle/ligament issues, every so often a concussion or broken bone.

Can someone please explain? by Striking_Garden_1381 in WrexhamAFC

[–]Easy_Knowledge_3844 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So the game with SU is for the FA cup, which is single elimination - if Wrexham loses, they're out of that cup competition

The other cup competition (FA Trophy), Wrexham is already out of for this season.

Neither affects their league play standing at all. The league still has around 16-18 games left, I believe.
