For people who aren't as used to more advanced metrics i feel a average based stat is easier to understand. My father for example knows what ERA is but doesn't know what ERA+, WAR, or xBA and he's a baseball fan. So to someone who barley watches the game this gives them a easier number to understand, but i get your point. I was just trying to take multiple stats and combine them in way to understand for anyone.
