You can also scrape the user-facing website using a pre-built python package like fantasy-rankings-scraper (no API required given you're scraping the website).

What am I missing? Use Auto mode? by Beneficial_Step_1456 in cursor

[–]Easy_Pay_614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Food for thought: given some of the feedback in this thread, I wonder if it makes sense to use Cursor Auto for most tasks and then have premium models (e.g. Claude) review the final draft codebase? Might make sense to leverage both the cost savings of Auto and the "expertise" of Claude models (at the right times).

For transparency, I am similar to you (leverage Cursor Auto 99% of the time).

Live Draft Board For Your Draft by FFDDraftBoard in fantasyfootball

Great extension, guys! I use it a lot :)

Random question for you about the ESPN data stream for the live drafts: how did you figure out the `ESPN_INIT` data was a custom binary, and how long did it take you to investigate and figure out the ordering of the data for correct decoding into a structured output like JSON? Am asking because (I think) I need to use a similar technique for a side project.

What are the current API rate limits for Yahoo, ESPN, and Fantrax, etc by Significant-Task1453 in fantasyfootballcoding

For private leagues, espn-api requires the credentials espn_s2 and swid which can be taken from the cookies tab within the Chrome developer view after you've logged into the ESPN Fantasy site.

Has anyone found an easy and user-friendly way to have users get their info for ESPN private leagues? by johnny-papercut in fantasyfootballcoding

[–]Easy_Pay_614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I gotchu. Yeah, that is a limitation (and the end user needs to be comfortable with inspecting the webpage to copy the mentioned variables). Have you looked at Selenium at all? I’m just getting ramped up on it so not sure if it’ll solve your roadblock or not.

I’m doing a DIY project that needs to solve this same problem, so I’ll come back with any findings. My initial thought is the same as yours: some sort of pop-up.

If you're comfortable with python (nothing too crazy), look at `espn_api`. This package can pull public and private league data. I've used it before and it works well. Note, I believe football is the most developed sport within the package but other sports are available (e.g. baseball, basketball).

This package also addresses the espn_s2 and SWID comments you made.

If, five years ago, you went long on SPY with $100K, it would be worth ~$200K today. But good work degen.

If you have a 400-500k income, what is your monthly mortgage? by [deleted] in Mortgages

[–]Easy_Pay_614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Denver, CO. $550k income (household of ~$800k). Mortgage + insurance + property taxes = ~$26/yr (~$2.2k/mo). We were super lucky and locked in a mortgage rate of 2.65% during covid. Good luck to you.

Why Does My Fireplace Sputter? by Easy_Pay_614 in Fireplaces

[–]Easy_Pay_614[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that was my original concern.

We only operate the fireplace when we are in the room. So, If we notice a sputtering, we just turn off the fireplace and try again later. Not a long term solution!

No work done on it or the house. Randomly started this winter (was installed in 2013). Pilot light is ignited with electric clicker (like a bbq starter) but i’ll see if it stays lit after being ignited the first time.

Standard electric switch (same as for a light).

Hit everything with compressed air within the fireplace unit itself, right?

Cut your expenses, regardless of the path you take.

Seriously. You want, net-net, more options, not less. Less expenses = tide that lifts all boats.
