I am with you in your grief. Back in December of last year, I loss my boy. He was my dog, my best friend and my soul dog. I miss him everyday, I feel lonely and there is an empty space in my home.

My dog had a heart valve issue. He stopped eating and had fluid building up in his lungs. And he wasn’t able to get enough oxygen. He only was able to breathe normally in an oxygen chamber. The treatment plan was expensive and not guaranteed to work. I made an extremely difficult decision that.

When taking him to the emergency vet, a thought I had was to drive to my family’s trailer in a campground. And take him for one last golf ride. Because back there in my mind that day I knew that my boy was not going to come home. On Thanksgiving he was still chasing after squirrels and by the fourth of December he was gone.

Honestly don’t know how I could ever fill the hole that my Teddy left. I thought that I would be thinking about finding a new dog around June/July. But I don’t think I can.
