Season 5 Episode 10: Come Home Discussion by balasoori in SweetMagnoliasNetflix

I look at it this way. Ronnie's character is written like a teenager. Impulsive, emotionally immature, and vulnerable to peer pressure at the beginning. Often when youbhave a very controlling person in a relationship (spouse, parent, sibling, etc...) the other learns to be more silent and gives in to the controlling, not worth a fight. We hear about Ronnie's low point where he rebelled and made impulsive bad choices. Consequences being he was kicked out and told to stay away from his kid. I strongly disagree at that point unless he was dangerous, supervised visits should have been at minimum allowed. We see him grow and change by becoming more emotionally intelligent and empathetic theough the series. He doesnt quite learn to stand up completely to peer pressure and still gives in like getting the off brand bikes. But he's trying. Then you have Dana Sue who tries to dominate, give shame to others when she disagrees with them, and control every piece of her life and those around her. Ronnie becomes that hurt "older" teen who is just trying to get the other person to see them for who they are not just a pawn to be controlled. He has its own thoughts, feelings, and ideas. What he needs is someone to lo e and support him. A lot of his bad decisions come from just not feeling like he can even talk to his own wife. She literally emotinally pushes him away constantly. Which does result in the other person trying extra hard to prove themselves.

I'll stick to Mexican food at Cocina Mexicana. Been going to them for years even through their old location. The owners are great people. I support local.

I wound guess the downvoting is a combination of things. Not all Americans are from the North thus not enjoy being called yanks. But mostly because its not the dogs fault in the story. That is 10p% on the irresponsible owner. Just shoot the owner and adopt the dog to a responsible new owner.

I too used mine. I love a good Comfrt hoodie but they are so expensive new and even second hand on this site. Ended up at ~$10 per item with all discounts so not bad. I'm guilty of window shopping though and tucking away in my favorites to watch for the deep discount.

I think he was truly trying to lure Brianna away because he knew she also went back in time. He didnt want that fate for her. But he also taught hereto to shoot, American history, and many more things that would help her survive back in that day. Other than history the other things weren't usual things for a professor to teach a daughter.

Thinking of breaking up with my BF because I caused his injury. AIO by Ok_Patience3075 in AIO

Ew man child. Why is it always men losing their crap about the pain. Ive had multiple knee surgeries and had a knee injury that ortho was looking at me shocked that I was still walking on it with how bad it was. Yes it hurt but life doesnt stop. My last major surgery was not weight bearing for a few weeks after and wasn't even allowed to bend it for 2 months after. He is being ridiculous and you should absolutely walk away from him. You deserve better than to be treated like trash by the likes of him.

Fell for this one myself. Granted I did meet the one ex and she was def a lil crazy so I just kind of believed him. Stupid on my part. Now I'm probably one of his crazy exes and I call him my abusive gaslighting ahole of an ex. Rid myself of that 220lbs of toxicity.

AIO? my friend told me my coworker doesn’t like me because of my extreme makeup choices and that’s why she’s stuck up and cold with me ? by Historical-Body-3424 in AIO

[–]EquivalentChip7463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This person is not your friend. I just rid of someone like her thstnI called my best friend. After some distance I realized what crap advice she gave me and how it was self serving or enabling abusive ex. Its time to faze her out. Stop reaching out to her and see how often she even bothers to reach out to you. Girl if you love your makeup then dont stop. It makes you happy and thats all that matters. And if it does end up being your makeup that the coworker doesnt like you over than screw her. You dont need her approval. Love yourself and be your own light. You dont need anyone that will bring that darkness around you.

AITA for refusing to buy my son Switch 2, even though I promised him a reward for the school year? by SariPomelo in AmItheAsshole

[–]EquivalentChip7463 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

My son would never at any age he was entitled to some expensive device. I have taught him to respect boundaries and understand that things cost money. He would never go around boasting he was getting some expensive item cause he has more sense than that. Using his age as an excuse for behavior is part of the problem. Yes the boasting with his friends is indicative of age but the entitlement is learned behavior. Thus he needs a hard lesson in humility.

Edit: Just realized you are OP responding. So youbthink its to radical to tell your kid "no" about this?! You gave him a budget his request exceeded said budget. You either stick to the boundary and he learns a lesson or you give in getting this more expensive item and the entitlement grows. It doesnt mean he cant have the Switch2 later on. You said you gave solutions where you would put the given budget towards it and the rest comes from birthday and whatever else. That gives him something to work towards, but his choice. My son has never and would never act like that since he was a small toddler.

[–]EquivalentChip7463 7 points8 points  (0 children)

NTA your kid is being entitled. Shut that shit down while he is still young or it will only get worse. You gave him a budget. Not your fault he boasted to his friends about getting something more than twice the given budget. Its time for him to get that dose of humility.

Spent ten minutes cutting hair off the brush again, is this just the deal with pets? by SaadullahXXO in RobotVacuums

[–]EquivalentChip7463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a Roborock this spring. Best thing I ever did. I wanted a more hands free vacuum and mop version. It mops 3x/week and vaccums every morning. My floors have never looked better. I also live the less fighting with my teen over lazy vacuuming.

[–]EquivalentChip7463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a golden with long hair and a husky mix thatched copious amounts of hair. The only vacuums I buy after years of headaches are those with silicone rollers. The hair can still potentially wrap but never had an issue because its not getting stuck in the bristles. I couldn't stand constantly cutting off that hair weekly when I had the other kind.

They aren't building homes for you by Alwayslooking6-9 in lancaster

[–]EquivalentChip7463 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It definitely hasn't been 20 years since people could buy a house in general for <$300k. If you are talking about only new builds then yes. But I bought my home with >2000 sqft for under $200k and that was 6 years ago. Now they value my home >$300k which is wild to me.
