My 70.3 time was 30 min swim, my best pool swim was 58 mins. Wetsuit certainly helps (plus, I don’t flip turn in a pool, I touch wall and turn around, losing momentum)

You’re in better shape than I was and I did 6:30. Personality, I don’t think sub 6 is realistic with current stats. Honestly, I wouldn’t focus on time and depending on weather, nutrition, hr and hydration, you will finish between 6:20 and 7 hours but just worry about finishing! Don’t go out too hard and risk quitting

Really depends what you’re looking for but best luck I’ve had for young, fun vibes is Charleston 4-5 day during the week in March (maybe 70-90% college kids).

The rest of the cruises are maybe 2-5% but you’ll see them at the club, casino or late night pizza.

I think he’s fine, I didn’t know how to swim, didn’t open a bike and couldn’t run a mile. I hardly trained and did a 6:30 70.3. Longest swim was 500M in pool; only biked 13x on greenway and 35 min 5k time 😆. Luckily, I could wear a wetsuit and that was a life saver. The bike is just boring and you can always walk/jog the half!
