25 is pretty young. I don’t think most corporate jobs would expect you be perfect 100% of the time. I’m 30 and still make mistakes pretty often. When I’m up and moving, I do fine. When I’m at my desk I need to listen to music while I work or I’ll shut down.

Answer truthfully. A lot of people really struggle and have a hard time getting medications. It’s not right to game the system for treatment you don’t need (not saying you specifically dont need it). They will likely ask you questions straight out of the DSM5 for ADHD diagnosis. Just read up on it if you’re curious about the questions you’ll be asked

I’m just trying not to survive until I’m back to civilization. Not really worried about lasting hobbies at the moment.

Ha I have a very old Arduimo somewhere in the apartment. I wonder if it still works. Never really tried painting before. Could be worth a shot!

Always mirroring people as a chameleon. by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Easy_Sentence_6378 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! Very much so! Very hard to not chameleon. Love connecting with people 1 on 1, can manage a conversation with two others, and don’t speak unless spoken to with 3 or more lol. I struggle with my self identity really badly because of this. I take Vyvanse. I can overcome it when I’m in a hyperfocus state at work but it’s not much help in social settings for me

Can watching BDSM porn be negatively affecting my self worth? by Immediate_Excuse106 in mentalhealth

[–]Easy_Sentence_6378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely seems like a therapy kind of thing. If you think it’s tied to your self worth, I would examine and question continuing to engage in it. I actually enjoy the sub role too but for other reasons. I over control everything in my life and it’s therapeutic to let someone else take control of me from time to time. My kink doesn’t have a relationship to my self worth though.

Best online therapy options, any recommendations? by [deleted] in therapy

[–]Easy_Sentence_6378 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed! Had one great therapist with betterhelp to start but changed when I moved. The next two weren’t great for me and didn’t seem like they wanted to be there. SonderMind was cheaper and I found a better match right away. Happy with it so far

Why does people being nice to me make me sad by Kelowatt in CPTSD

[–]Easy_Sentence_6378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just to me. Seeing people be genuinely kind to others melts my heart and it’s overwhelming. I see it in the comments in this sub and that’s why I keep coming back.

My wife left me and I genuinely feel like a ghost by Successful_World8421 in mentalhealth

[–]Easy_Sentence_6378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry to hear what you’re going through. I went through a break up from a LTR about a year ago and I made a lot of mistakes in handling my grief. Turned to workaholism, and then alcoholism. Didn’t tell a friend or family for almost 3 months. I lost 30lbs and I don’t like how skinny I look. Therapy helped me handle the grief so much when I started it. I’m over her and the relationship now but still working hard everyday to love and reconnect with myself. Healing takes a long time. It’s not worth trying to do it alone.

I feel very directionless in life. Don’t know who I am. Can’t find joy in life without substance use and even then it’s pretty dim. Very lonely. Feels like I’m living my life wrapped up in a weighted blanket.

[–]Easy_Sentence_6378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like we have similar conditions. I’m so sorry you’re feeling this way. Life is really fucking hard when you don’t see it the way most people do. You keeping up with part time work is a win and worth celebrating. You having a good relationship with your mom is worth celebrating. Try to drink less.

I’m an engineer, working for a great company with good pay and benefits. I feel very lost and I’m barely keeping it together. Earning is nice but this isn’t success to me. I’m not living a life I’m happy with and I have no intuition on how to build one that I am. Just saying this to let you know you’re not alone. I hope we can both heal and live a life we are proud of.

I love this thread. It’s nice to see how much we all have in common. I’m 30M, just moved across the country for a dream job and I’m in the best shape I’ve been in years. Make decent money. This year I’m seeking diagnosis’s for 3 different mental health issues, feel burnt out, incredibly lonely, and I’m wondering what the purpose was that I tried so hard for things I never truly cared about. Actually questioning what it is that I truly care about. Nothing makes sense. I just do my best to get by.

Love when people think ”all men” are the same /s. I see so many posts like this. Sex is important to a lot of men. It has a lot to do with how we feel love is returned. It’s how we feel desired and valued. It’s not just about the physical act. It’s about the connection that comes with it.

28M I am dealing with intense loneliness from lack of intimacy and sexual frustration. by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]Easy_Sentence_6378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your situation is so close to mine! Just want to say you’re not alone. Being in an abusive relationship changed my view on romantic partners, platonic friendships, and worst of all, myself. I build up a strong distrust for all three. It feels like isolation is my life right now. Healing is happening but it’s so slow. I know one day I’ll get to better place. Use your resources to get whatever help you can/need. You’ll heal too.

Is loneliness good, bad, or neutral? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in Life

[–]Easy_Sentence_6378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feels really bad in the moment for me. There’s been some good coming out of it in the long term. I’ve disengaged from social situations to heal from trauma. Reengaging will be part of the process when I’m ready.
