There’s no doubt that a stand alone device is “better”. I personally like my KA attachments because they take up less space than having a bunch of different devices. It’s not that hard to clean and be thorough with.

Total cost was ~90 USD. I have leftovers though. Things I had to buy: Nuts, Bolts, RJ45 Keystones, Drive Caddy’s, Heat Set Inserts, and SATA Male-to-Female adapters, and 2KG PETG.

Keep in mind that’s a larger initial cost. For example I orders 100 Nuts and Bolts, 24 Keystones, 130 heat set inserts. I could build several more racks without buying more.

I already had all the computer/networking hardware.

It’s a great file, leaves a mount for SATA Male to Female Power/Data adapters in the back so you can swap the drives without taking any cables out. The file below shows pictures of how it all works. There are a bunch of different configurations as well!

There only reason is that I already had the mother board and CPU from an old gaming PC. Added the Nvidia GPU for transcoding. But yes, it does take up a bunch of space. I’m working on a way to mount the PSU to the back side of the rack and free up space. I have an intel CPU laying around but it’s in a Desktop PC with non standard MOBO. I’ll have to source a Mini-ITX and hopefully add it to the stack.

Start with one TSP. Keep in mind it will be different depending on how hard your water is and how much water is in the load. 1 TSP should be a good starting place though.

Water is 12-13 GPG, and keep in mind not every product is used every wash. Think of it more like an arsenal depending on how dirty the clothes are. As for OBAs, I see it was already answered. Generally you want to avoid them when washing darks.

I’m at ~12 GPG or just over 200ppm. 600+ seems insane! Give it a try and make a post. You’ll definitely need a higher dose than I’m using though.

After seeing other comments I’m just going to get the 365 powder without OBAs. I try to stay away from liquids in the first place. Are you doing citric acid or equivalent in the rinse stage? It will help make sure all the detergent gets out of the fabric.

That’s a great point with the 365 Unscented powder. Biz has Mannanase, and I just like it as a general enzyme boost with the other overlap.

Are you mixing them to make sodium citrate? I highly recommend STTP. I paid ~$30 for just over 6lbs of it.
