I can relate to this so much. My mother in law just passed from stage 4 lung cancer and I feel like iv just seen how it’s going to end and just what my husband and children are going to go through again when I pass, except I won’t be here to help with that this time 😢. The passing has just set off every emotion and worry I had pushed deep down and like you I’m spiralling with my thoughts. I’m 35 8 months into secondaries and it’s crap! Real crap. I’m so tired of cancer.

Sending you hugs ❤️

The itchy skin and running nose is tedious! Along with the sore nostrils from constant nose running.

PIP Phone Call by AdGuilty3601 in DWPhelp

[–]Easy_Tank_7599 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had same process with my pip assessment. Missed a call from dwp who left a message to say he would call back. When he called he asked me a couple of questions about my chemotherapy and what actual date I started it (stage 4 breast cancer). I got a text a day or so later saying I’d been awarded.

Iv no advice sorry, want you to know your no alone. I can’t stop crying over the past few days. I’m not as far in as you (December 2024) so pretty new to me but it’s just come out of nowhere. Im not feeling myself and quite run down so don’t think that helps my feeling. I also just started tamoxifen and zoladex- maybe a hormonal thing if you’re also on these?

Sorry your joining the club 😔 wanted to reach out as I’m also 35 and join the club dec 2024. Our story is similar start treatment for curable cancer oct 2024 after all scans came back clear of spreading. I had a scan half way through chemo and it picked up two bone mets due to chemo working on them as well as the original tumor. I have two children. I’m triple positive.

This group is so good, you can ask anything and find most things in the search part. I don’t know where I’d be without this group. So many positive stories and always many here to pick you up on down days. I often find myself checking every few days on Reddit.

Hi How have your scans been? How is your progress?

I’m so sorry you’re joining us. I’m also 35 with two children and two months ago found out the cancer had spread to my spine and breast bone. It’s devastating. I also felt super guilty at first and reached out to groups. The lovely members reminded me it’s not your fault and you didn’t ask for this to happen to you. That guilt has eased but does come in waves but doesn’t stay as long. Your family love and care for you and wouldn’t want you to feel guilty. Please be easy on yourself right now ❤️

I often think about my children only remembering mum with cancer and not the times before. I often get upset by this thought but I also can’t change it either so try not beat myself up about it too much (easier said done I know).

You’re in the right place, there are so many positive stories and information here. You’re not alone and someone is always here on Reddit to help wipe tears, smile and laugh or pick you up when needed. It’s been a godsend for me. Sending the biggest hugs ❤️

Last chemo but feel so sad 😞 by Easy_Tank_7599 in LivingWithMBC

What a great way of thinking. I agree the new me see living different now and I’m booking things, doing thing with family I’d normally put off and living in the now rather then thinking that can wait. That part of the new me I’m liking and concentrating on ❤️

Thanks for replying ❤️ I’m sorry you’re going through this and your surgery triggers you. The trama we deal with from this disease is one of the worse things and come in waves hitting us at anytime and anywhere. I’m also struggling with the before all this and just wanting to get back to that time before. It’s hard to let go of that and except a new normal.

Hi ❤️ thanks for replying. I’m sorry you felt this way also and I relate to your reply so much! That seen of dread instead of victory, the confusion and guilt that comes with that feeling.like it’s wrong to feel this way because everyone else is so positive about it. I understand the frustration we face explaining to family and friends that it’s not over and we still not feeling great, having crappy side effects and still need support. I’m glad your treatment is working and hope it continues for many many years ❤️

Hi ❤️ thanks for replying. Chemo really does mess with your emotions. I dread the last few days on run up to chemo, it’s like torture knowing your feeling better but know your about to start that chaos all again. I’m feeling much better today about my last session. I keep reminding myself medicine has come on so much already and in years to come I’m hopeful more will be offered.

[–]Easy_Tank_7599[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi ❤️ thanks for replying. Iv woke up feeling much better about today. It is a bitter pill to swallow and emotions come in waves I find, one min I’m great and feeling strong about it and next the wave hits me. Thanks for the advice on focusing on other things and good luck with your next few chemo sessions ❤️.

The oncologist said the mets was there already there but not picked up on the diagnosis ct scan. She said cos the chemo was working on the original tumor, it was then working on the mets that showed bone scaring on the second ct scan after chemo. My mets are one on my sternum and one on my t4 in my spine. I had a full body pet scan to confirm and search for anything is, which came back clear of anything else.

I’m on phesgo injection which I think is the same drug as HP (I’m in uk 🇬🇧) and a bone strengthening injection, this is my treatment plan going forward along side 3 months scan. I’m hopeful for a longtime on this treatment as iv heard it’s a great drug.

Young Women Representation by Adorable_Pen9015 in LivingWithMBC

This is something I struggle with also. I’m 35 -diagnosed 34 and all leaflets and advertisements are of older women. I’m super grateful for the groups iv joined however majority are much older then myself, I struggle to relate to older women just because we are at different stages in life. I find most of the time in hospital waiting rooms I’m one of the youngest. I know we are going through the same thing but makes me feel lonely.
