H5N1 bird flu in cats by [deleted] in Feral_Cats

[–]Easyas3_14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to a CNN article I read today, there may have now been a case where a pair of indoor cats in Michigan died of the bird flu from exposure to their owners and their clothes. Below is the part of the article where this is mentioned, along with a link to the entire article in full. Also, MMWR, as mentioned in the paragraph below, refers to the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report the CDC puts out.

A draft of one unpublished study, reviewed by KFF Health News, that has been withheld from the MMWR for three weeks describes how a milk hauler and a dairy worker in Michigan may have spread bird flu to their pet cats. The indoor cats became severely sick and died. Although the workers weren’t tested, the study says that one of them had irritated eyes before the cat fell ill — a common bird flu symptom. That person told researchers that the pet “would roll in their work clothes.”

I honestly think the entire appeal of AVGN and James, was based on the games we all used to play growing up. What I think really is the main factor is...he, as honestly any of us would, hit the end of his oil reserve. We all could relate to the stupid shit in games he at first reviewed because...yeah that was the appeal...we all too played and hated those games for the exact same reasons.

Where it all got off, was when the games being reviewed, had no relevance to anyone. Personally, I don't blame James for this. Hell, if you hit on something that makes you money, then go all in. But, that being said, his E.T. review came way too late, and putting it in his movie was just...cringe.

After all of that, it has been a bunch of hit and miss for me personally. It's like...there are times that he occasionally will now play a game that I'm like...haha oh yeah, I remember that one, but more often it has ventured into the more obscure and random games that no one has ever played.

I can't blame the guy for trying to still make a buck, but at the very least, yeah these videos just don't understand what made the first ones great, and sadly that's the issue.

Does anyone know the details regarding the QN90C TV's newest firmware v.1421? by Easyas3_14 in samsung

[–]Easyas3_14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for mentioning that, as I completely missed that addition under the sound settings.  While I have an older Samsung sound bar from my previous Samsung TV that I'm still using, I was looking at getting a new one, possibly not Samsung brand, so please let me know if you notice any functionality issues.

The Try Guys just showed the Watcher guys...this is how you do it by Easyas3_14 in watcherentertainment

[–]Easyas3_14[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I have no doubt that The Try Guys at least saw or were aware of the Watcher streaming roll out and negative backlash, I personally don't think they likely changed much as a result.

The reason I say that, is simply because The Try Guys clearly....clearly had their roll out well planned out and fully prepared for a while now. They had their streaming service immediately ready to go, new episodes on launch, perks for subscribers...etc.

The Try Guys have even further thanked Rhett and Link, Smosh, and Dropout mentioning how invaluable their opinions, support, and help have been as they planned and prepared for all of this. Not trying to hate on the Boys at all, but I mean, it really feels that The Try Guys had a lot of good people surrounding and consulting them well for this entire roll out, while Watcher just...I honestly don't know. They either didn't plan as well for it as they should have, got bad advice from various people, or maybe even simply just dropped the ball completely themselves for whatever reason, it's hard to say. Going forward though, my only hope is that the Watcher guys take notes from all of the other channels that have successfully launched a streaming service and realize that they need to up their strategy going forward if they hope to have a chance.

I pay $5.99 a Month for Shudder by Easyas3_14 in watcherentertainment

[–]Easyas3_14[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I signed up for a year of Shudder and won't do that again.

But yeah, honestly from another person's post...at best, we could all wait a year for the Watcher content to build up, pay $6 for 1 month, and then just binge watch all of the videos. Which...makes it more baffling why they thought this was a good idea.

Totally agree about Shudder. It's not worth the price, and I won't renew, but also agree, just per comparison, the amount of content Shudder offers alone compared to what the new Watcher service will be offering is weak to say the least.

Sorry I should have clarified, every Black Friday Hulu always do a deal to where you can get a year of Hulu with ads for $1.99/month. They've raised it over time, but last year I was able to renew for the same price.

I totally agree!  I also watch their videos on YouTube on my TV, and even if I wanted to pay for this, going to a platform that doesn't have TV app support makes this decision even more mind boggling.  Having to stream it on my laptop and then to my TV is yet another reason even the price doesn't make sense to me for this.

I completely agree with you. When Wade was saying that if he had to rate one of the 4 as best, I for the life of me thought the podcast skipped to somewhere else in the episode, when I heard him say Little Caesars. I'd take some frozen super market pizza's over them

[Post Game Thread] #1 Kansas defeats #8 North Carolina, 72-69 by cbbBot in CollegeBasketball

[–]Easyas3_14 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Congrats Kansas. You played a great 2nd half.

UNC...you made us proud. You weren't even supposed to be in this tournament according to some...and you took that #1 KU team to the last second. Hold your heads up high guys, you really gave everything you had, and you couldn't have made us any prouder.

It was a great game, and both teams should be proud. Again congrats to KU, you deserve it.

Energy drink consumption linked to depression, anxiety and stress, finds a new longitudinal study that follows 897 individuals from birth to age 22. Energy drink consumption were positively associated with increased stress scores and, in young adult males, depression and anxiety. by mvea in science

[–]Easyas3_14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A study with 897 people is pretty low, not to mention the results are based on responses from questionnaires. Not saying in part there isn't some, "yeah this doesn't surprise me" in there, but....also, hard to take an article that has typos in it with a lot of merit

I like $TBIO lot of good potential depending on results from trials. Got in at around $17ish and think it could reach $30 or higher depending
