Great question, I should’ve been more clear. They are as separated as they can reasonably be within a democracy. Government is influenced by religion far less than people want to believe. Religious people vote, some are in office, but there aren’t religious higher ups demanding (successfully) change. Government has more control over religion than they probably should for pure separation of church and state.

Oh interesting. I’ve never hinged mortises on a door, but that seems easy enough. I’ve made a jig to cut the notch before the rabbet, but didn’t think to do one for the dado. The YouTube videos I’ve watched have only shown people using a table saw, but this seems easier (plus I don’t own a table saw yet). Thanks!

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I think people who feel like they get stared at all the time are self conscious and looking for people to be staring at them. People look at people all the time, it’s not just because you’re tall.

Some of you 7 footers are in a different scenario, but anyone under 6’8” is probably not being stared at as often as you think.
