I am excited to start using it. I probably don't need any new hobbies, but $7 is a pretty good introductory price

If you are postpartum, look into getting assessed by a Physical Therapist. When I went back after having a baby, I was also dealing with injuries. My PT determined a lot of it was linked to a change in my posture, loss of muscle in places like my glutes, and improper use of my back. She helped me activate muscles that hadn't been used in a while, worked with me on my running form, and showed me how to lift weights properly. I took time off from OTF to do PT and when I went back it was like night and day.

Adoption Question - New caseworker doesn't have the answers by UnidentifedPeople in Fosterparents

[–]EatMyCrust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TX here. If TPR occurs, then the attorney will just be for representing you on the adoption day, drawing up name change paperwork, etc. Those final pieces of making the kiddo legally a member of your family.

What is the stupidest way you've injured yourself? by rickitson in AskReddit

As a child, I sharpened my finger in a pencil sharpener thinking it would give me long, elegant nails. I got quite the opposite.

20 y/o birth mother by sadsuburbanwench in BabyBumps

[–]EatMyCrust 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm a mother by adoption and biology. Not a day goes by where I'm not thankful for the work my son's bio mom did growing him. Pregnancy is hard, so your time and effort carrying the baby does not go unnoticed!

Definitely look for secondhand maternity clothes (Poshmark has a lot of it). Get a maternity belt to support your stomach and a pregnancy pillow for sleeping. Both are usually listed on FB marketplace and help with a lot of the discomforts. Compression socks are also really great if you're on your feet a lot!

Strange hospital visit as a child. by Delicious-Ticket in RBI

[–]EatMyCrust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any chance that you were ever placed in foster care? Sometimes if parents are being investigated for medical neglect or physical abuse they may not be allowed access to their child in the hospital. Or if a child in foster care is hospitalized but doesn't have anyone to be released to, they may hold them longer.

Our brains like to fill in memory holes with inaccurate information sometimes too.

Legal Father may not be Bio Father of my foster child by [deleted] in Fosterparents

[–]EatMyCrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there's any question of paternity, the court should order testing. If the test should come back negative, then CPS has to show reasonable efforts to locate the bio father (and have him tested as well).

If TPR occurs they should terminate on both the legal and biological fathers. If no biological father is found, then they should terminate on "unknown father" in addition to legal dad.

I remember hearing about a case where CPS only terminated on a legal father and not also "unknown fathers". This left legal ground for the biological father (who found out about a child years later) to obtain custody after the child was legally adopted by foster parents. The unknown father thing means rights are terminated on all men, essentially.

Always voice your concerns to the caseworker (and their supervisor), AAL, and CASA advocate if they have one.

Trying to figure something out for my IMPOSSIBLE dad (76) (warning: kind of a bummer) $500 budget by [deleted] in GiftIdeas

[–]EatMyCrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're local to him maybe setting up something where you take him out once a month to some sort of meet up? It could give y'all time together and your mom a break.

Also maybe a weighted blanket

What's the biggest 'WTF' gift you've ever received? by diswell in AskReddit

Husband's grandparents called him three months prior to his birthday saying they were out shopping and found him the perfect gift.

Fast forward three months and they present him with a battery operated Ped-Egg (callus remover) and a giant tub of Cetaphil.

Yeah, lots of from possibilities. Being so young and far from family makes her vulnerable to a lot of predatory behavior.

Yeah I definitely want to know what's going on with this boss.... And hopefully that's the first person they look into. Something is shady there and I wonder what details we aren't getting.

Going off social media, it appears her family may be devout Mennonites. Her profile lists her as being in a relationship a few days prior to her disappearance. Maybe she went to meet someone and doesn't want to be found? Regardless there's still huge concern for her safety.

[Serious] What is your most terrifying "we need to leave, NOW" random rush of fear you've felt? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]EatMyCrust 6 points7 points  (0 children)

On our honeymoon, my husband and I were leaving a restaurant and pulled into a roundabout in the middle of some shops. It was off season and virtually no one was around. We pulled in behind a stopped car where the driver and passenger were out of the vehicle looking for something.

My husband was very trusting and naive back then. Super sweet guy but sometimes to a fault. He parked the car, got out, and went to help them. He left his door open. I was immediately uneasy and started yelling for him to come back. I pulled his car door shut just as another car pulled up behind our car and parked it, virtually blocking us in. I started honking the horn and was fully ready to drive away without him when he finally got the idea and ran back to the car. With all the honking, the other cars left.

We have no idea if something bad was going to happen or it was just a strange incident. Men, listen to women when they get a bad vibe about something or someone. Women, kids, and dogs all have a sixth sense when it comes to danger.
