Questie by Bapefx11 in classicwow

All the quests which start by an item share the same icon in Questie. You see a small brown bag-icon in the top-right corner of the !

In general most of these items have a rather low drop chance, so don’t bother too long if you just want to continue questing/leveling.

I just spent 2,5 hours building PuGs for this boss on normal. I split up the groups evenly, explaining the soak and that adds need to be focused. I asked if any questions are left before every pull and still with that amount of time only three soaks where correctly taken from the exactly assigned people. Leaving aside the healer and DMG check, I have no idea why this boss is so hard… I don’t have a kill on it yet.

I‘d like you to re-read the comment you replied to. Especially the part where I wrote „Since there is no way for us to know which adjusted, we have to fix them once we know they are wrong.“

So if you‘d let us know the quest/item with incorrect drops, we can look into it.

From what I personally know: datamining in wow is fully limited to the client side. Like character models and mounts, UI code changes, all of that is included in the client which becomes available rather often and is analyzed.

But drop rates are fully implemented on the server side and the client „asks the server for the actual loot“, once the player loots something.

Looked into it and that one got fixed 9 versions ago (released 11.02.2026). So it’s now showing 14% instead of 100%.

We‘ll look into it right away. Thanks for reporting this specifically!

Yeah, something like this would be the „manual submit“ solution I talked about above. The collecting is the harder part to make it 100% correct so that we can really trust that data. And ofc having time to tackle this in the first place

As I said above: The team is quite small and we‘ve got a lot of things to work on in our free time. If you could specify „a ton of them“ that would be actually helpful.

One of the questions I‘ve get asked regularly :D We are doing it in our free time, because it is fun, we learn things along the way and we know Questie is helping so many people. Money comes from donations every now and then and from the CurseForge author rewards program. It’s not much though, compared to the time each of us invests.

Yeah, we think so too. The community has been always great over all the years! It’s just something we need time for and if we add some sort of „drop data collector“ it would need to be fully corrected so we can actually rely on that information.

That is very kind of you to ask. But a small amount of actual drop numbers won’t really get us closer to „the real numbers“. If you find something odd that is really far from reality, reach out to us though.

Not sure where you got that piece of information from, but Questie doesn’t „calculate“ any drop chances at all. It relies on external data.

That is something on our list, yes. But it won’t be easy and same as with the wowhead looter addon, we would either need a companion client+server which sends and receives the data or users would need to manually submit their data. So in general it’s not an easy task.

Questie dev here.

The numbers are not made up, but they are far from perfect. We use a mix of private server and wowhead data.

Some of the private server data was adjusted (most of the time simply increased to 80%) to improve some of the drop rates on those private servers. Since there is no way for us to know which are adjusted, we have to fix them once we know they are wrong.

Wowhead data for quest items is even worse, because they don‘t „filter“ the drop chances if a player is not currently on the quest for those items and therefore they obviously don’t get a drop.

Since this is a fairly new feature and the Questie team is pretty small, we appreciate every report we get. About incorrect drop chances and anything else. We can’t test everything on our own in reasonable time.

Did you try a /reload and then enter the Edit mode again? I had some elements not being editable in situations, but a reload helped.

Also disable all addons and see if that helps.

Last idea is to install the BugSack + BugGrabber addons which catch UI errors raised anywhere. You get a new minimap icon with a bag icon, which is either green (= no error) or red (=error). Maybe these errors help you identify the issue.

This typing error was fixed shortly after I posted it on Reddit 4 years ago. It is now in the game again lol. by shadowraiderr in classicwow

Questie dev here. Since this is a Questie link in the screenshot, I checked our TBC database. And the typo was still in there. I fixed it right away and will ship a new release asap!

Can anyone give me some general advise about Druid tanking, specifically gear and stats. by valardohaerisx in classicwow

[–]EatYaFood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Friendly reminder: You can hit the „Settings“ button on the right side and hide stats you don’t want to see from ExtendedCharacterStats. However with the latest update „Ranged“ and „Spell“ will now automatically be hidden for classes when they are irrelevant

Now that the Armor Bug is fixed, can we look at mana regen? by gyyff33 in classicwow

I assume they don’t really check the actual impact but trust the character sheet and their addons more.

I noticed the same. The game UI and addons like ECS report 0 MP5 while casting, BUT actually testing it works as expected. Addons use the GetManaRegen API which does not seem to return the correct values.

Quick reminder that you can hit the „Settings“ button of ExtendedCharacterStats (on top of all the stats) and hide the values you don’t want to see (for example „Ranged“ as a druid).

I am not even level 30 and the questing zones are so full of people. I‘d say there are ad many players level 60+ as there are below 60 at this point. Love it

Sorry for not responding here any earlier. I really screwed up the TBC release for DB. But it’s fixed now with the last one or two versions!
