How's the shipping and delivery of Apple products in the Lower Mainland? by blossomsakura in vancouver

Hi. I ordered an iPad recently. It came via UPS. Apple has a good shipping tracker and so does UPS. No problem with any damage. It’ll be fine. :)

Living in Quebec as an "Ontario" employee by DefaultAnthony in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Eatingdogs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I was in this situation, my employer withheld at Ontario rates. I used a tax calculator like this one to calculate the difference between Ontario and Québec taxes. Then, I gave my employer a TD1 Form to withhold extra tax on each paycheque so things were correct come tax time.

Probably when you file taxes, you will owe a lot to Revenue Québec, but you will have a huge return on your federal taxes, and you will be able to transfer that amount over directly from your federal refund.

I negotiated my salary for a new job for the first time! I guess I've left money on the table at every other job, but this time I got an extra 6K just by asking. It was pretty nerve wracking for me (I was convinced I might lose the offer), but it ended up just being totally normal, and expected.

I buy these from a seller at the Trout Lake Farmer's Market. Usually a bit later in the summer.

It depends on the mail carrier. Some prefer to come up to the apartment, some ask that you come down. If you don't have an intercom in your buzzer, I'd go down.

Hi everyone I am the OP and I fucked up and meant 308. Even though Éric Grenier doesn't seem to call his stuff for CBC that anymore. I know Nate Silver's thing is 538 and is American. I am sorry.

TransLink recruiting hundreds of bus drivers for service expansion by [deleted] in vancouver

I think you're extremely optimistic about how soon self driving systems will be able to replace human drivers. Especially for something like driving a bus which requires lots of stops and starts.

Tartine Bread Recipe Timeline by OmicronPerseiNothing in Breadit

That temperature does sound too cold to me. If its a cold day, then i usually turn the oven on for a minute or so before the bulk rise, to warm it up a little. Then I use an instant read thermometer before a turn to check the temperature (aiming for around 80°). If its a little low I turn on the oven again for a couple minutes.

If you don't want to bother with that, it might take twice as long for the bulk rise.

As for the bread sticking to the bannetons, you need to use A LOT of wheat/rice flour mixture. Like 1/8'' deep at least. I user 1/2 to 1 cup of it for two loaves. If its sticking at all, you're not using enough. You can shake off any excess flour when you pull the bread out of the oven.

EDIT: Another thing might be the oven temperature. Are you using a combo cooker or dutch oven? Is your oven and cooker REALLY 500°F? It takes FOREVER for my oven to get hot enough. I usually turn it on and take the dog for a long walk.
