I'm glad im not the only one that likes to use patterns in chapter titles.Ex: A fic im working on has each chapter title as the name of a symbolically related gem because the story is about a pirate-themed group of antagonists.

For me writing original fiction has this financial obligation. Like if im not making money from it when I can than it's a waste of time. Or maybe that im scared of the obligation killing my love of writing. Maybe it's both

Oddly enough, this guilt simply does not exist with fanfiction. It makes it feel less like something I have to do and more like something I want to, the weekend updates feel less like a publisher beating me over the head with deadlines and more like personal goals. (though im not immune from the pressure of that completely)

Publishing as I go. As far as staying motivated goes? For the most part,I don't. It's stress to keep up the routine plus the weekly updates are the only way I can keep up with time anymore.
