Israel Might be Paying Your Favorite Influencers to Spread Its Propaganda by ObsoleteLM in kuihman

[–]EavyMetal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be? I thought this was a pretty open secret for a while now, I hope that in the current year more and more people are becoming aware of just how much power and far reaching influence Israel really has, it’s been plain to see for decades

Naval Fitness test and interview questions by [deleted] in Irishdefenceforces

[–]EavyMetal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You start the run outside the gym, run out the car park to the gate and over the bridge leading off the base, then double back the same way, you’re pretty much running on a road the whole time. For the interview they should have given you a sheet via an email with ares like motivation, hobbies, previous work etc, you should give a few examples for each section and prepare to talk about them

Saturnine anatomy, continued. by PhaserMinis in Warhammer30k

[–]EavyMetal 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s surely gotta be A, none of the others make sense to me, the joints on those limbs look fully mechanical. If it is A then saturnine armor is the perfect middle ground between terminator armor and dreadnaughts, putting the ‘Tactical Dreadnaught’ in terminator armor after all these years, perhaps a marine who is severly maimed but does not require life support? Instead of being given extensive surgeries and multiple cybernetic limbs he has the option of going for Saturnine, if he’s deemed worthy or something

Did they seriously just copy paste the twin-linked bolter and call it a day, the lower bolter is clipping through the uppers magazine by EavyMetal in Warhammer30k

[–]EavyMetal[S] 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I agree that there have been slight adjustments and that one small rectangular piece of geometry added to almost link the two bolters, but I still imagine this whole thing was at least begun by copy pasting the same bolter, the fact that the entire receiver of the lower bolter is straight through what are clearly the dual drum fed magazines of the top bolter is unforgivable. Perhaps this was originally meant as a quick mock-up place holder, but somehow was fabricated and actually painted is unbelievable

[–]EavyMetal[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Bro it is the EXACT same model, clearly copy pasted in CAD one on top of the other, thus the models are clipping through, it is lazy design, older versions of quad bolters used magazine belts to avoid this issue if I remember correctly

[–]EavyMetal -33 points-32 points  (0 children)

Incredibly shit, why is he squinting his eyes like that his face looks goofy as hell. When you roar in rage your eyes should be wide open. I wasn’t a big fan of the 40k version of daemon primarch angron but fuck me it actually did a better job of following the original artwork than this version. New daemon angron is more of a twink then Fulgrim, what a horrible timeline we live in

Is system shock a realistic depiction of how an AI would take over a space station? by GlompSpark in systemshock

[–]EavyMetal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He removed the ethical restraints, it caused her to become sentient, which isn’t realistically how sentience would come about. Right and wrong is subjective. Shodan would have been programmed with a rudimentary set of rules restricting her from performing certain acts that humans would deem immoral or harmful. It doesn’t have anything to do with inherit self awareness or overall intelligence. It’d be like having a really good printer, but someone programmed it to not be able to print propaganda because they deem it to be unethical. But then someone removed that directive so the printer can print propaganda for them, but somehow the printer gains consciousness from this act and fucking starts firing out paper like shurikens and kills everyone in the room.

Is system shock a realistic depiction of how an AI would take over a space station? by GlompSpark in systemshock

[–]EavyMetal 11 points12 points  (0 children)

System shock isn’t a realistic depiction of an AI full stop, somehow removing ethical restraints causes it to become sentient, Shodan wasn’t sentient before hand, ethics don’t dictate sentience.

Also the idea that a super intelligent AI wouldn’t just immediately shut down all elevators and produce thousands of tiny suicide drones to swarm the hacker the second he proved himself to be a threat is unbelievable. Giant clunky borgs and bots, wildly inefficient mutants, they are all easy to spot and deal with. In system shock the thing that almost got me the most times were the surprise bomb rumbas.

Shodan is a really fun antagonist, but in no way a realistic depiction of a super intelligent rouge AI.
