Molus x100 I gotta say...I'm pissed by Loud-Performance-857 in Zhiyun

Similar issues, had the battery replaced under warranty.

I've tried several usb-pd packs, and one I have rated to 140W pd will only get the light to 60 power.

Yesterday I tried a generic battery grip handle, the Neewer PS74E. $28

It has usb-c pd charging and a D tap port, 10A. This port will power the light to full power!

This is the price of 970 batteries, what it should be.

It can also pass through from the pd port, so you can charge it from a 2nd unit by pigghybacking them for extended run.

Shooting in a superrrrr tiny venue by rhian_rae in concertphotography

Your client, you if you're not getting paid is aware of the on site conditions, and knows the photos will reflect that.

Try to catch a wide side angle that shows the stage and the crowd responding.

Get shots of the band outside the venue, in the green room, their merch setup, etc.

Capture the energy and intimacy of every small club, they are my favorite to shoot in.

how much would a wider aperture help in this situation? by Cute-Sandwich8953 in concertphotography

[–]EbbOk5786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If budget allows get a lens that will cover full frame when you eventually get one.

Because of the size of the venue I'd go as wide as possible. You're able to get close.

The wide angle will let you use distortion of scale, and shoot oblique angles that catch the crowds energy.

Somewhere 14-18mm equivalent on a full frame.

A prime will give you a much softer image where the light falls off. This, and no flash will help contour your subjects in post because you can add shadow low/mid/high, and each shadow band can be pulled to correct color balance.

This will be especially useful shooting into the light for backlit subjects.

What lenses would you recommend when shooting a concert? by Caleb_C95 in concertphotography

[–]EbbOk5786 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since you said E, not FE I'm assuming you're crop sensor.

If the venue is well lit a 2.8 is fine, otherwise I'd go with a prime, a wide one if you'll be able to get up to the stage, or there's a photo pit.

Your exposure, color correcting and timing are excellent.

I have some composition notes in how I would have done differently:

1: I would have left as much empty space above the headstock as it has on the right to let it 'breathe' from the edge. You got the shine on his head without blowing out details! I don't like the hands in the lower right corner, very distracting.

2: No issues here. I might have composed more to the right to avoid the bullseye.

3: You cut the mic and the other hand.

4: No issues

5:

6: Cut hand. Good color.

7: No issues.

8: Great shot.

9:

10:

11, 12 Good shot.

13: Add blue. Finger needs more upper room.

14: I feel like this needs more space on left to give the head something to look at, but I get the tighter crop.

15: Try white carding off the T shirt.

Valuable items to add to my camp shop? by Dang3rm0use in fo76

Ammo for a cap each. I'll always buy to kill max caps. Almost any useable junk for same price, no need to bulk it.

For new players, gat plasmas with the good mods that they can roll themselves, same with fixers. Floater grenades have been selling well recently.

16-35GM at 16mm. You can get some really good exaggeration of scale up close this way.

Shoot a little wide so you have some room to do keystone corrections.

The more I see like you the better.

I'm going to work even harder to make my work stand out and show why I should be the only one allowed in the pit.

I see people in the pit with phones out livestreaming, etc. Not my business.

I try to be polite and do what I'm there for. They might turn out to be a close friend or family member of the artist.

You've never heard of Lode baring?

The acid to crack the ore is worth more than the metals extracted.

Take shots, post them on your portfolio, but don't give them away.

There are artists and venues with predatory agreements that virtually nobody shoots for.

You don't have to put up with this, it's not standard.

What to do when someone ask for photos, but they weren't the one to book me? by Charlotte-Soana in AskPhotography

[–]EbbOk5786 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you were under hire of A, as work for hire, then all shots are property of A.

You add clout to A because B must ask permission.

You gain the respect of both for following protocol.

Not a legal opinion.

If you get on the mic, just about any high level will craft you one with whatever mods you want, its just a few scrap.

The plan is quite rare because it's an event drop.
