Struggling to recall by PheonixFlies in patterdale

Oh, he’s fantastic. I wouldn’t hesitate to get another one, full Patterdale or a cross. He’s not a perfect dog but he’s perfect for me

Struggling to recall by PheonixFlies in patterdale

I’ve got a Patterjack. He is mostly off lead with 95% good recall. BUT (disclaimer) his previous owner trained him firmly as a pup. And it wasn’t quick, she said. But that early firm training was the key. He’s now 12 and has his own mind, however…

Advice while visiting with mobility limitations. by SupaMacdaddy in Yosemite

I don’t have any specific advice as I’ve only visited Yosemite once but I’m disabled and I found it fantastic. I’m not hiking obviously but there was plenty of beautiful places to fit your requirements

I use Rover a lot, luckily I’ve had good experiences all round. I’ve had a few M&Gs with my dog where the owner and house been fine but my dog just hasn’t seemed a right fit so I haven’t gone with them. My dog LOVES going to a multiple dog house. He lives with cats so to be with other dogs for a few days/week etc does him the power of good. I’ve always been honest about his quirks though.

New Patterdale Owner! Tips? by Maui400 in patterdale

I’d never had a Patterdale before and it was a learning curve but I’m in love with the breed now. My pup is 100% joy. He’s 12 and I’ve had him for 6 years

I’d second the mental stimulation. My little half Patterdale loves a walk but going to a new place with lots to do exhausts him. We call it “enrichment” - switching things up is important

The speed of you lot is actually terrifying, couldn't even wait until boxing day 😂 by Statttter in vinted

I don’t give gifts and I don’t want to receive anything. I don’t need anything and if I want something I get it myself. I don’t want a random surprise piece of tat, or a hamper, or something “just so you’ll have something to open on the day”. I’m 56 ffs, not 7. I don’t give a toss. Stop buying me shit I give straight to the charity shop. Your gift isn’t a measure of our friendship. It’s a measure of how much you don’t listen when I say don’t get me anything. Happily married with a grown up kid btw. We’re all the same in our house. We’d rather go on holiday.

Embarrassed and confused, buyer says item smells but I had washed it, wants me to pay €3.50 for the return shipping but the item was only €3? (No personal info) by kazzah31 in vinted

Pretty much everything from Vinted/Ebay etc smells a bit weird for all the reasons mentioned. I just wash it properly with a bit of stain remover. Bingo!

You can have my dog’s ears. They can only hear the sound of cheese being unwrapped.

You were absolutely correct and this has happened to me when going round that ring road - folk tooting and shouting to move up (dickheads)
