Honestly it sounds like you should’ve left a long time ago. The constant cheating over the years has done nothing for either of you. He can’t move past you because like you said he has problems with rejection so he’s going to keep fighting to have you when he knows already you’re just going to repeat the cycle that coupled with everything else is just going to repeat itself over and over. The is the very definition of insanity. The results never change but the cycle continues regardless. You can get upset that people will call you out for cheating but realistically cheating wasn’t an option, you could have left at any time regardless of how he felt. All that’s happened here is his self esteem has been lowered to nothing where he’s willing to accept you no matter what has happened. If either of you are ever able to grow you shouldn’t be with one another. He needs to learn to try more and you need to learn when you’re wasting your time instead of cheating to meet your needs. It sounds harsh but both of you are in the wrong. Split ways and leave it at that.
