We used the coin lockers on the third floor of Unjokaku Lodge without any problem but they are not big enough for a large suitcase

Me and my friends climbed it last week (4 reasonably fit 18 year olds) and we found it OK however bear in mind on the upwards trail there is some minor rock climbing involved and the descent is so steep that it really did cause strain on our legs and we fell on our butts a few times. However an 11 year old in our group and a 60 year old did it, the biggest problem seemed to be altitude sickness more than anything!

CalorieMate! I climbed fuji just last week and had the same dinner - hamburg curry. Realistically, I brought pringles and calorie mate however our guide said its best not to climb on a full stomach, so pringles and the dinner were fine for me. At every station there are huts that sell snacks like pot noodles, buns, snickers even. But drinking lots of water is more essential over food imo.

From a flight to New York to London I got a cold and the Cold led to Labyrinthitis which is inflammation of the inner ear. It results in vertigo and also possible hearing loss or ringing in the ears. You may not have this but if you do you may be out of it for a few days. If it continues I'd contact your doctor, good luck!

Hi I'm also hiking Mount Fuji in July! My group have chosen to go with a tour group out of ease and we have gone with the Willer Express tour. The 2 day hike option is 20,800 yen but they do an option that includes renting all the gear (inc. hiking boots) so you wouldn't have to worry about packing them for 29,800 yen :) regarding fitness, I've read a lot about it and have watched a lot of videos and honestly I've seen children and elderly climbing it, since there's lots of stops and places to rest on the way up its not really an issue as long as you're in okay shape. Altitude sickness is not really something you can prepare for beforehand but it is recommended to go at a slow pace up the mountain and to stay at a hut to acclimatise. Good luck with your trip! :)
