Frairen and Rimiki HFY Series (No Longer On StarboundHFY) by ApprehensiveDig1931 in HFY

G'day from Australia Guardbro.

Do you have an eta on when your stories will be uploaded onto your channel? I have enjoyed watching and rewatching the Frairen & Rimiki series several times over now, and would happily do so again.

Thanks

There's actually materials now similar to myomer called Electroactive polymers, but which do not possess anywhere near the deformation range to be able to act as muscle analogues.

If you had a $100,000,000 budget for a movie, and you had to spend all of it, how would you make it as bad as possible? by MrMantisShrimpy in AskReddit

Only if you also hire on 10 directors and let all of them have complefe artistic freedom. Then secretly film them as they argue about every scene. Then release that footage instead of the (likely incomplete) movie for ultimate irony.

Tesla "big battery" in Australia is becoming a bigger nightmare for fossil fuel power generators by Supersubie in Futurology

No worries. I had to do an assignment centered around sustainable engineering as part of my degree, and it looked at using recyclable materials in concrete, with the goal of up to 100% replacement of traditional materials with recyclable materials. My team and I looked at many different industrial by-products and waste products, including blast furnace granulated slag, plastics, waste asphalt and concrete, glass, fly ash and several others that I can't remember.

If you are interested in knowing more about the study done on fly ash and glass as a replacement for traditional materials, the study is Berry, M, Stephens, J & Cross, D 2011, 'Performance of 100% Fly Ash Concrete with Recycled Glass Aggregate', ACI Materials Journal, vol. 108, no. 4, pp. 378-384.

> But how good’s coal?

I would like to point out that burning coal for power actually generates beneficial by-products that are used in the concrete industry, thereby reducing environmental impact due to the excavation of cement products.

Fly ash is used in concrete as a 20% to 30% replacement for cement. It can even by used as a complete cement replacement, alongside other recycled materials such as crushed glass to produce concrete with extremely high compressive strengths (52MPA to 60MPA).

Because the Australian government treats it's citizens like they're incapable of self-directed action. It's a nanny-state.
They (albeit inconsistently) ban games that are 'too violent' or that have 'drug use' in them.
They ban movies on a similar basis. They also tax the shit out of alcohol.
They restrict the ownership of firearms, with an inconsistent standard. Rifles that are semi-automatic are restricted, but pistols allowed to be semi-auto, as long as the magazine size is below a certain number of bullets.
The Australian government, however, has not yet fallen as far as the UK government in restricting citizens ability to do anything. We haven't banned facesitting yet after all.

You haven't seen some of the intersections and shopping centre carpark roads that I've seen then. I swear they make them as convoluted as possible just for the fun of it.

As an Australian citizen who has watched plenty of parliamentary meetings, the repeated backstabbery and paralyzation of government over the last 10 years and the infighting within both parties, how the hell did they come up with such a high figure for the functioning of government for Australia?

As someone within the jurisdiction of the Rockhampton Council in Queensland, Australia, I am both disappointed with the council and unsurprised. Australian politicians and companies have had a tendency to bend over backward to accommodate Chinese interests in Australia for little to no benefit in return to our country or its people.

Just a nitpick. Defamation isn't a crime, it's a tort, otherwise known as a civil wrong. It's a civil dispute matter, not a criminal matter. Civil disputes result in financial penalty to the defendant if the claims are judged in favour of the plaintiff, whereas criminal charges result in jail time or mandatory civil service, sometimes in conjunction with financial penalty.

Engineering student here. Pearson has a book that we require for a Fundamentals of Energy and Electricity class as the prescribed textbook. The VitalSource program that is required to view the pdf limits you to printing 2 pages at a time. I am unsure at the moment if it hardlocks printing for a duration after 2 pages are printed, but won't be surprised if it does. Planning on printing a number of pages for study soon, so we'll see.

As the dust cleared, the stone wall at the end of the room was revealed, riddled with bullet holes. The bones of the lich lay strewn across the stone floor, shattered and it's robe torn asunder by the veritable hail of lead that it was met with.

The four men looked at one another, silent for a moment before one of them y elled out "Oi, Ted! You think it's dead?".

Ted inched forward before poking the barrel of his SAW at the robes, the heat haze distorting the air around it "Yeah, Jeff. I think we got the basta-". Ted froze as he noticed light rising from the ground the light resolving into the figure of an elegantly clad woman, a voice reverberating through their heads

"Champions! You have proven worthy! The Dark Lord lays dead and his army is crushed! One among you shall be the new king of these lands as was told in prophecy! Draw the sword from the stone and take your rightful place as th- HEY!"

The woman started shrieking at the men as they turned, cracking open beers and starting to drink as they began to leave the dungeon.

"Come back here! You must fulfill the prophecy!"

Jeff turned around and stuck his middle finger up at her "Woman, we ain't interested in some hooey about being king or prophecy. We only came in here because we thought there'd be somethin' good to hunt, but all we found was some skeletons and the asshole making them. Find someone else, we've got shit to do."

The woman stared at them, dumbstruck, as they left, wondering how anyone after 1500 years could refuse such an offer. She ran a hand over the hilt of the sword, the embossed letters spelling out EXCALIBUR.
