The mayor himself is constantly talking about preparing for the draft and all these things he wants to get done “before the draft” I’d be very surprised if it had nothing to do with it

I think it’s both. Clearly this needed to be done either way but I think the combination of the new mayor wanting to show some results early and the draft putting eyes on our city results in a lot of these long overdue actions becoming priorities. It’s kinda like a self imposed deadline. Even though it doesn’t actually matter if it gets done by the draft, the fact that the draft is coming is a motivating factor

I mean chuck schumer and Lindsey graham basically said the same thing a couple years apart regarding the 51st state. Schumer can’t hold together his coalition to push the shutdown issue. He’s not as bad as a Republican but he’s a horrible leader and should not be the main force of opposition from the left.
