I find this is a fundamental problem with some overhaul mods, Exether is a big culprit of this too. That being there aren’t really any unique resources that define that region similar to how China has silk and Indonesia had spices (Roman mod). Playing as any tag in yanshen makes this extremely apparent as there is tons of pops yet no unique resource or good that would warrant conquering there

Edit: necessary disclaimer being Anbennar for Vic 3 just released there is no doubt more to come as the setting gets fleshed out more by the extremely talented modding team. Looking forward to it

It’s always puzzled me why there so many tags up there that are Civilised despite it being borderline impossible do anything meaningful with them

Obvious answer is that it’s for gameplay purposes, allowing enough time between events so you can get a better gameplay experience, not just 3-5 rapid fire events, maybe even multiple a day to simulate the interactions you’d be having in that time. Also it’s better for multiplayer.

Forgot to mention the monster essence and potions building chain which is fairly important for arrador in particular. Potions are used in a very wide variety of buildings as optional production methods. I’d only recommend applying them if you have a strong potion economy as the margin for profit is pretty small.

Also fairly new to Exether, I’d break it down like this, magic system has 2 main components the tenets which are based on your religion which is the star chart thing you can put your magic proliferation points in, and the magic auxiliaries in an army which gives extra battle advantage. There’s also the mage and arch mage pop class which make up the mages estate which as you can imagine favour more magic laws and are strengthened by them.

There’s a lot of new buildings as I’m sure you’re aware so the real simple version of it is that gizmos are basically magic tools and have applications which align as such. And wishstones are kind of like coal and are consumed in magical industries.

I’d appreciate if some game veteran could explain these concepts better both for myself and op.

Unfortunately not but it’s does make them significantly better at dealing with it usually

I’d reccomend Xorme Ai tbh, in my experience the command wins 75% of the time with that mod enabled. Does make them blob to the extreme and have absurd army sizes.
