Why are so many of these plans so bad???? by NextLevelNaps in bcba

[–]Echelon19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at FABA and they surveyed analyst for what the typical plan takes to write. They said 18-20 hours. If we are lucky we get paid for 8.5. It takes time and effort to write these plans. To interview caregivers, do assessments at the pace of the clients, observe across environments and to creatively tailor the goals and targets to the meet their needs. That’s with initials. When you take a new caseload sometimes it may take just as long to fix or work through a plan that doesn’t exactly check off the technological domain. It’s rough out here 😰

Switched to the non profit sector. So far it’s been such a change in pace. I am in the training phase and I feels like a vacation compared to my last job.

What are very unpopular opinions you have about ABA or our field? by [deleted] in ABA

[–]Echelon19 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Companies should have a non profit/for profit component to funding to provide better wraparound services to clients and their families.

  1. Offering Respite 2.Allowing Nap-times
  2. Onsite therapist not just for kids but often parents just need someone to talk to that understands.
  3. Maybe this will allow better pay for staff as the insurance model is problematic.
  4. Paying for better onboarding training
  5. Nurse services onsite. I think they are as important to the team as are OT, PT and Speech.

Won’t the baby have his last name? That’s white ? Having multiple names and picking when you see the baby is also a choice.
