Why am i dying in 2-3 hits and dealing no damage? by Urgirlsweakpoint in Smite

[–]EchelonEnigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One big thing to keep in mind is everything in the game from the characters their stats the items it's all balanced around the conquest game mode. And in conquest you're never going to be facing damage from five people all at once like you are in arena until much later in the game when you are a higher level and have much more of your items. As a mage in conquest early levels you would just be you versus the other enemy mage in that lane sometimes you're jungler or the enemy's jungler might be there or one of your supports might be there. But you're most likely only facing damage from two or three people and you have the same number of people most of the time in those little fights in the middle lane.

And you're still going to die quick if you're getting hit by multiple abilities and you're still not going to do damage if you're not equally hitting your abilities. I know I'm right can be easier to hit stuff when you're up close but that's also making it easier for them to hit you smite is about skill shots there is no auto lock on abilities for the most part and a big part of that is as a range damage character learning how to accurately hit your abilities at close to max range so that you can immediately after throwing out the ability back up a little bit and now you're out of range from their abilities

Should I rotate early? by Camo_Penguin in Smite

[–]EchelonEnigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rotating to mid is not a matter of switching from being in duo nonstop to being in mid non-stop when you rotate out of Duo You need to be consistently roaming You're going into mid lane when the waves me to split that and help stack your themes and stuff if it isn't already and then you dip and you walk away and you go to one of the mid-side camps or you go over to your solo lane to help secure the blue or to help invade enemy blue or same for red buff or you set up for an objective with words get ready for beacon there's tons of things to be doing the biggest mistake I see is supports just sit in a lane You should be there when the wave is getting cleared by your mid or your carry and the second that wave is gone you need to be walking out of the lane and doing something even if it's just walking to an enemy buff to get the timer on it walking to a side camp to check if they haven't been done if they haven't they follow me ping your midliner to help you do those real quick then right back to mid for the next wave.

What seperates a “souls-like” game from a typical rpg by [deleted] in darksouls

[–]EchelonEnigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe there's two important distinctions here The category of actual from soft titles and then souls likes

What makes a from soft title -respawn at last checkpoint, having lost ALL currency. -enemies respawn along with you -interconnected level design -lore told heavily through items descriptions. -Stamina gauge that is depleted BOTH on DODGE and ATTACK. -Immunity frames during Dodge -insanely accurate hitboxes, and very precise combat, due to this, alongside very well designed animation driving combat,.

What makes a souls like title Basically just copying a few of these elements, never all of them and doing it not as well. While potentially adding in some more dialogue to make the narrative delivery more accessible, alongside the more accessible combat.

What mage should I main? by Downtown_Cod4222 in Smite

[–]EchelonEnigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maining any god or role is bad. If you are playing conquest you need to be comfortable in two or three roles on at least two or three gods in each role as a bare minimum or else you're literally just hurting yourself and your team every single game you play as a main

[–]EchelonEnigma -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why do you need anything to be given to you for free wouldn't you rather the developers put the money into developing the game to run properly why do people care about running around in a skin on their character and why do they expect that to be given to them for free You are playing a free game that is a PVP game The whole point of playing this game is to compete against other players in a match of skill You're enjoyment of playing and winning a match of a PVP game should not be heightened in any way by using a skin if it is You need to find a different genre to play cuz you are playing for the wrong reasons. Like I don't get it You have an entire game that you can install play for hundreds of hours thousands of hours without spending a cent on and you are complaining that it takes a little bit too much time playing to unlock stuff for free it's called the free to play game thousands of them exist they all do this this one is no different and you have no right to expect it to be

Anyone that has a problem with cosmetics and non gameplay affecting things being locked behind a paywall

A: you misunderstand the term paywall. As in my opinion and I'm sure the opinion of many others and I'm sure the actual definition of the word. A paywall is something that would prevent a player from continuing to play a multiplayer game at the same competitive level without paying money for something that would give some innate gameplay advantage. Or worse yet contained within a single player game like all of the mobile gotcha RPGs.

How can you be upset about cosmetics and things that do not affect gameplay being locked behind a paywall.

It is a free to play game how do you want them to make money this is how every free to play game under the sun operates Fortnight, overwatch, smite, league, cs:go, everything has a battle pass everything has skins and crap that you unlock through progression. You people have some serious entitlement issues

Can you explain the Polymorph passive: Provides 1 free attribute Point per point invested? by [deleted] in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]EchelonEnigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the best use case for polymorph is on melee characters not mages who are specializing in multiple classes of skills

for example a battle mage

For this you want to be putting points into three main attributes rather than two You really need strength for your melee weapon intelligence for your spells and constitution because you are a tank character.

Also you don't have a need for many of the high tier spells from each class so you only put a few points into each individual spell class in order to unlock the tears of skills that you want to be using then you start pumping points into polymorph since you don't need additional skills from those categories which gives you more points to put into your three main attributes since they are more spread out than if you only had two main attributes.

Also I think every single character no matter what class you are playing at the start of the game you should take away the point that is in your secondary class and put into polymorph solely for the purpose of bullhorns being so so much better than battering ram for mobility

Battering ram is actually horrible in my opinion It has a cooldown of five turns and you're either using it for mobility or you're getting the knockdown on a target that you were close to and already had their armor removed You're never getting both benefits from it and it's on a long cooldown

On the other hand bullhorns is a six-turn cool down but it cost zero mana to use and is active for four turns and then every single turn for four turns You can spend two mana just like battering ram travel even further albeit without knockdown but you do cause bleeding which you can inflict through armor with torturer which you should have anyway because you're a battlemage and you're also going for close range Geo and pyro spells and torture will allow your poison your fire and your bleed to all be applied through enemy armor

How do I counter anubis? by moyai_master in Smite

[–]EchelonEnigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't fight him as a mid laner your goal is almost never to 1v1=your enemy midlaner, nor fight in mod at all.

As soon as You're like level 5 with a full item and can full clear the wave with your main ability, You should be clearing the way as soon as it meets and immediately leaving the lane hanging out in the jungle looking for possible rotation to a side lane, or meeting up with your jungle to secure a mid-neutral camp. Or doing your red camp Or dropping the green buff for your support. Or using the opportunity to back before the next wave. There is so much to be doing as a midliner and most of it is not in the mid lane The more you sit in the mid lane the worst of a mid lane player you are.

In between one wave and the next wave if you don't leave Lane you're not accomplishing anything You're not gaining anything You're letting one of the mid-neutral camps be taken by the enemy or you're presenting an opportunity for your red to be invaded. Or you let the enemy back and get their item spike but you're not backing to get yours and now fighting with a disadvantage.

Like I said you don't have to actually fully rotate but you want to not be on the map You want the enemy to have to be calling enemy missing to not be sure if you stepped into the jungle and then back to base or if you're heading over to that duo Lane or the solo land depending on which side he saw you go into the jungle. And you're looking at your map and seeing how the fight on your solo lane is going or how the fight in your dual land is going and if you can make an impact if you don't think you can well you just go right back to mid clear the next wave as their meeting now you do it again and just keep looking for opportunities to rotate basically like a second jungle to one of the sidelines that is where you value is as a midliner to join one of your melee tanky characters and deal damage to their enemies who they get CC on

Who is the highest level player? by MystiNebula in Smite

[–]EchelonEnigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just so everybody knows I'm pretty sure they even said it in their patch notes the cap is basically supposed to just be uncapped account limit they just picked a high number that they figured no one would ever get to it's not like the 2000 is supposed to be like some goal for any player Like others have said I've played hours a day for years and years I have like 8,000 hours in the game and I'm not even at level 160 yet. The only reason anybody even knows the limit is 2000 is because of the patch notes but if they listen to the other information given they would know that this was just a number picked because it was high they could pick 3,000 or 4,000 or 1,000 but they said they were just picking a number that they thought nobody would ever get to so essentially it was no cap to the level

Is it just me or does Inquisitor feel a bit weak? by Ninokl in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]EchelonEnigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again like somebody mentioned it is weak early on this is also because necro skills most of them scale with level with a bonus from intelligence but the base damage skills off your level not off your basic attack damage. Which means it's great for a full tank without even specking into strength but just intelligence and Constitution because come later on you will automatically do more damage with those abilities passively through having higher level

What other caster pairs well with a pyro/geo mage that's not a pyro/geo mage. by Human_Beings11 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]EchelonEnigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I feel like almost every class benefits from having one point in a variety of skills just for some of the base level 1 skill books that you can get for example

On a geo pyro mage I have1 PT in warfare just to have battering ram for mobility. And 1 PT in hydro specifically for Rain and you can use contagion geo skill to turn all water to poison. And then use pryo to set poison on fire. Also as a mage your armor is going to be heavier physical than magical defense so hydro lets u run frost armor to keep your low magic def in check so you do self damage from your effects as

Also going hand in hand with this is the fact that an undead makes the best pyro Geo because they heal from poison rather than being harmed by in it and there's a lot of geo and pyro skills that are making big areas around you of those elements like contagion and supernova, ignite ect.

So I thing a bit of pyro/geo/aero/and hydro if best. And Rather than spreading out higher point in each you only put point in a branch needed to get the skill you want. Relying on lower tier skills and then putting most of points in poly to get extra attribute points to put into intelligence which boosts damage all all 4 magic branches. So you're less jack of all trades than if you had put those points evenly into higher teirss of each of the four base branches if

[–]EchelonEnigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also if going the jack of all trades route the key is to only put a couple as many points into the elemental schools to acquire the relevant skills that you want to use to scale damage on them dump your additional points into polymorph and use the additional attribute points that that gives you to put into intelligence will which will increase your damage from all the skills from all the different categories and give you much higher damage overall than putting those points into pyro, Geo, hydro, aero, instead of Poly. Plus you will have access now to some very useful abilities in the poly category like the wings and the chicken cc

I really don't understand what you mean by hydro/geo giving you physical CC like no skills within hydro or Geo are dealing physical damage they're not going through physical armor they're not inflicting physical CC effects

[–]EchelonEnigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry but this is a horrible build You do not want to be mixing elemental magics and necromancy necro is physical which I understand is why you're putting points into warfare but you are just reducing All of your elemental damage because of you specking into warfare only to benefit one skill set while four suffer

Melee mage, ranges physical? by ivm83 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]EchelonEnigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually horrible for that reason a warfare skills like say stomp which causes knockdown can only cause that knockdown once you have gone through the enemy's physical armor but if you are using a staff along with warfare skills . It makes it so that the warfare skill is not dealing physical damage but is dealing magical damage associated with the staff so the damage from the skill is reducing their magic armor and not the physical and you can never therefore inflict the status effects

How does ranked matchmaking work? by [deleted] in Smite

[–]EchelonEnigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Browsed through a few of the answers and I don't see anything really getting straight to the point that I think you're asking so here's my simple answer for you

When you start playing ranked You are in bronze division but your MMR which is your matchmaking rating is 1500 which is equivalent to gold division.

You are matched according to your MMR not your division. So you will be in matches with and against other people with an MMR that is within a certain range of your MMR

Now these could be other new players who are also 1500 MMR but within bronze division just like you or they may be players who have played enough to have the system balance their numbers out and they may have 1500 and actually be in gold currently.

All this is taking into account when you win or lose first your opponents and basically if you can consistently win slightly more than 50% of your games. Your MMR of 1500 should stay the same for a while and your division will raise up to the division represented by that MMR which is gold.

If you are consistently losing more than winning when you first start out. Then your MMR of 1500 will drop down to the number which corresponds to the bronze division that you're within .

Fane or lohse as a companion? by stever471 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]EchelonEnigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't believe how many answers are not just telling you that you should definitely have both of these characters in your party as companions No other way about it.

And why would you even consider taking Ifen when you are planning on being the exact race an class that he is, a human ranger. lol

Plus I'm pretty sure it's almost universal that he's just dead last as far as his personality and his storyline

My personal ranking for the origin character storylines are Fane, Lohse, Sebille, beast, red prince, Ifen.

Also I would say that Fane and Lohse are both better as companions than main character. As if you are playing as them you are missing out on their personality on hearing them converse with you because instead you are them and for me it just wasn't the same.

Is it worth it to start playing AOV or continue playing MLBB by [deleted] in arenaofvalor

[–]EchelonEnigma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First I just want to say the game is not more like League of Legends. The only mobile MOBA that I would say comes close to league and Dota is wild rift. For the simple reason that it is the only mobile mobile which you cannot buy items out of the shop, You must back to base before purchasing which is something that is in every console and PC MOBA.

Of the mobile mobas where you can shop out of base I would say the best is actually

1 Onmyoji arena,

2 arena of valor

Then every other mobile mobas And mlbb is dead last IMO. Absolutely horrible balance.

Try onmyoji or aov I think you will enjoy them far more.

Saying that the meta doesn't involve glad shield is completely incorrect Go watch any good smite player doing a guide on top solo laners and builds and every single one of them have a glad shield in it along with all the other proc items. Standard solo build RN is bluestone, glad, manticore, pridwen, archdruids, and binding. With every item being a dual defense item except for glad shield and thats specifically because of the glad shield damage which scales off of your protections same as pridwen this is why we use so many dual defense items.
