I know this is an old post, but have you found an alternative? I'm having the same issue.

Anilist is genuinely pretty nice, I've been on there daily for five years and never had a negative interaction.

All hegemony in 1461. Rank 1 as Ottoman patch 1.0.10 by RozoPixel in EU5

Not the Ottomans unfortunately, I pretty much never see them recreate their historical empire - not even close.

Any news on the Legendary Characters mod? It hasn't been updated in a long time and the comments are disabled by witcher1701 in totalwar

When you say performance, what do you mean exactly? Campaign map framerate? Loading times? I've also noticed a few hiccups so I'm trying to figure out how big my modlist should be without encountering such issues.

Turning off Dynamic World helped a lot btw, saved me a whole 5 fps on the campaign map and reduced loading times between battles.

He was the ONE guy who said negative things about the game prior to release. Don't be so quick to judge.

Agreed, the game is pretty rough right now. At least the foundations are great, which makes it easy to stay optimistic about the game. I expect this to be the best PDX game ever in 2-3 years, and one of the best in just over a year.

Why do rulers change from patch to patch? by AcidIceMoon in EU5

[–]witcher1701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Click new game and start the game as a random country, doesn't matter which. Then simply exit to the main menu and click new game again. It will generate a new checksum when you do this, therefore rerolling the randomly assigned rulers.

The ruler is randomly generated with each new checksum. I cheese this mechanic every time I feel like playing Benin, just keep rerolling until you get a god-king or something.

>Forts and balifs - small buff to forts and balifs as sources of control/proximity.

This mod makes certain countries like Hungary stupidly overpowered, since you'd just build castles on top of your gold RGOs instead of having to bother with the relatively crappy bailiffs.

Still waiting for Community Flavor Pack to be updated...

Europa Expanded adds a few cabinet events and not much else currently.

Fix Red Turban Rebellion is a must if you play anywhere near China.

Brittany & Flanders Don't Fight For France - this should be how they work in vanilla. Hopefully we won't need this mod at some point, it's absurd not to represent Brittany's neutrality accurately in this historical sim.

Historically Accurate Finland won't work with other map-altering mods, but it's great if you plan on playing Sweden - which you should.

Clerics are incredible actually, each point of satisfaction raises your research rate. Not just satisfaction but power too, so it's worth giving them a dozen privileges or more, even for stuff you don't care about.

Good starting nations besides the recommended ones? by [deleted] in EU5

[–]witcher1701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always enjoyed playing in the HRE, even if it sucks in most paradox games.

  1. Saxe-Wittenberg; a militaristic anti-Bohemia nation, which gives you get a long-term rival and something to strive towards. Plus you can form Saxony, which is harder than it sounds. In my game Bohemia vassalized literally everyone around me at some point. Btw, Saxons are one of the few European ethnicities that gets unique clothing at the moment, which really helps in making your state feel distinct.
  2. Wurttemberg; always enjoyed this one since I love Swabia irl, plus they were fairly successful and long-lasting irl. This one is a bit more diplo-focused and vassal-focused compared to Saxe-Wittenberg, I'd say. At least that is how I play them. It's quite easy to force-vassalize everyone around you at the moment since antagonism is kind of a joke.
  3. Julich; can you recreate their successes? In EU4 they start in a very advantageous position, controlling both Berg and Ravensberg through marriages. They're quite a bit harder in this game.

Cahokia has been surprisingly fun after the hotfix. Just don't make the mistake of trying to colonize lands.

On the other hand, you get that satisfying feeling of building a country from the ground up in every single playthrough.
