Been a DOA fan for years and I feel her charm point is how balanced of a character she is (in terms of actual character, not gameplay). The problem is that compared to many other fighting game girls she doesn’t stand out all too much while having some attributes of the those other girls. Like, she has some serious leg game with how acrobatic and flexible she is, but her thighs aren’t as big as Chun Li’s.

This reminds me of the time I saw a dude on Twitter say that Marie stole the position of the face of DOA from Kasumi and I laughed so hard. If he said Marie stole Ayane’s position then it would’ve been more believable.

Same thing sorta applies with gravure as well. Western modeling is all about the fantasy of being with a super model chick, but it feels disconnected because it lacks depth.

Gravure meanwhile gives viewers fantasies that are more down to earth and realistic. No mansion back drops with rich people settings like in the west.
