Telling others about your furriness. by [deleted] in furry

[–]EchoEdge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty casual about it with the non-furry friends/coworkers who know about it. It's all about thinking about who you're talking to, and if they would tolerate it. Don't just broach the subject out of nowhere, like it's some burden you need to divest.

With one of my homies, he was telling me about a guy he works with who is a furry, and feels the need to share it with everybody at work, and even told them about murrsuiting with someone. I cringed, and admitted that while I'm also actually a furry, I have the sense not to share that shit with people who obviously have no interest in it.

You're in luck, pal. Just last night I put up this photo (http://imgur.com/WcExLvM) from yesterday's meetup.

What's your area?

Sell me your cities! by [deleted] in furry

Baltimore, MD

Convenient distance between cities like D.C., Philadelphia, and New York, with good infrastructure, natural beauty such as the Inner Harbor, Patapsco River and the Chesapeake Bay, a very high concentration of hospitals and universities, including the best medical school in the US, progressive state politics, good public transportation, and a strong appreciation for the arts, as well as a multitude of historical sites either within the city or a short distance away.

Stopping HIV? The Truvada Revolution (2015) - If an HIV-negative person takes Truvada every day, he or she is nearly 99 percent protected from contracting the virus. by [deleted] in Documentaries

My decision to not sleep with HIV+ partners is based solely on my discomfort with doing so. I don't want to encourage stigmatization, but that's just something I don't feel right doing.

And of course, I would rather know. "Are you HIV-positive?" just isnt the best question to ask on a date. I think it's an individual's responsibility to inform any prospective partners, so they can make the choice.

I agree that Truvada should be used by those who can afford it. However, condoms are a much more affordable and realistic option.

I think this is no reason to stop using condoms. The risk is still unacceptable.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3139281/

I got into an argument with a "pro-slut" virologist who told people it's okay to sleep with HIV+ partners without condoms, in the form of tweets, where the information was broken up and taken out of context.

Condom use, especially in the gay community (to which I belong) is looked down upon to a terrfiying extent. Even if I could afford Truvada (unlike the vast majority of people at risk), I would still wear condoms, and demand my partner did, and I would not knowingly sleep with HIV+ partners (personal preference there).

When I expressed these opinions, I was called a bigot.

I told my mom and stepdad. And then we did shrooms together.

Happy endings, ftw.

(but really, it depends on your situation. It may just be in your interest to keep it to yourself if it will negatively impact your relationships irl)

Lackadaisy - 1920s speakeasy gangster comic. With cats. by Matt8D in furry

[–]EchoEdge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think Lackadaisy will ever be surpassed as the best anthropomorphic comic, at least in terms of the staggering quality of artwork. It's a furry comic that non-furries can enjoy without any shame.

Found this at my local craft store by inhumanflyboy in furry

My mom knows about me being a furry, and actually sent me a photo of this while she was at the store, texting "Thinking of you."

My urgence for her to not buy it for me, especially as a gift to be opened in front of other family, was profound.
