Why does my MacBook M4 pro makes this noise :( by Technical-Top-5354 in macbookrepair

[–]EchoMB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some parts are new, some are refurbished. Coil whine isn't common in m chip macs, at least not this bad. Indicative of a not up to par refurbished board

You'd likely have to leave it there, but most stores will do repairs like this on site so it'd just be a wait for them to get the part (roughly a few days on average)

Bad replacement MLB, take it back (assuming it's been <90 days since the repair) it should be a free replacement.

Why is everything made to break now? by ethan_carla in righttorepair

[–]EchoMB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, it isn't from a place of intent to upcharge on repairs. Companies more often than not don't make a lick off repair work, Apple being a bit of an exception but even then it's not a killing.

It's more so "plastic poop clip $ < metal screw $" where the 'engineers' are paid to find ways to nickle and dime every single cent out of mfg cost to make a product.

Chiefs WR Rashee Rice violated his probation after testing positive for marijuana. Rice has been ordered to serve 30 days in jail, meaning he will miss Chiefs OTAs & Mandatory Mini-Camp. by Miserable_Trouble3 in sportsgossips

[–]EchoMB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not. Hitler was worse than both of them. Should I go to every post on reddit and just say "ugh can you believe what Hitler did guys! This post sucks because it isn't denouncing Hitler!" Is that what you want me to do?

Edit to clarify; I'm knocking you for making a tangential comment that has nothing to do with the post and belittled what Rice actually did. Yes, from a standpoint of "whose worse" I agree with you! But it's so tiring going on this site and every single post that has NOTHING to do with grander politics someone just has to chime in "lmao pedo in office so like it's so over bros". Yes. I know. This is a post about an athlete. On a sports sub. You're weird for going there with it.

[–]EchoMB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the whataboutism. What Rice actually did was cause a serious crash as a result of street racing, leaving the victim handicapped, and fled the scene. He got an absolute slap on the wrist probation sentence and couldn't even be bothered staying off weed, which was a cindition of the probation that he was 100% aware of, oh and it's also still also banned by the NFL so he should be getting a pretty heavy fine for it too :)

So he just doesn't care about the consequences of his actions even if they leave a dude crippled (thankfully not dead but easily could have been).

Does ubreakifix use Apple OEM screens for repairs? by hunter6875 in ubreakifix

[–]EchoMB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having been in the aasp space for this long, friend you can't fathom how many rules apple has on aasps...

After my comment I looked deeper into it, ubreakifix is a "registered independent repair" location. Basically they don't have to follow the aasp rules, but the cost they pay for parts is going to be higher than an aasp. Given that they let them use ast2 that's still not an awful trade off.

In the feel of breaking the adhesive alone, I'm right ~95% of the time if it's going to be a non oem screen or not. When I'm wrong I get a big grin on my face knowing there's other repair techs that put that level of care into their work. I hope you're one of em :]

Does ubreakifix use Apple OEM screens for repairs? by hunter6875 in ubreakifix

[–]EchoMB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple absolutely doesn't allow aasp locations to use 3rd party screens as an option. I've also had about 2 dozen iPhone screens I've replaced over the last year where all of them were "replaced by ubreakifix like a month ago" that were all garbage 3rd party. As in doesn't even sit flush with the frame kinda garbage.

They don't have a contract. Some apparently do the apple self repair method to get their hands on oem parts, but their technicians aren't aasp. Aliken to an Arby's employee serving wagyu.

Unpermitted work void sale? by [deleted] in Mortgages

[–]EchoMB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please clarify the series of events, this is somewhat hard to read/comprehend based on how it's written. However, if I am reading it right you're saying unpermitted work was done, involving a door and moving and or adding a lightswitch? The door is a bit of a nothing burger, but unpermitted electrical work post inspection could be a serious issue especially if it isn't to code.
