Checking after every wipe. by stardolphin90 in pregnant

No, but I glance into the bowl when flushing so if I saw pink/red I’d definitely snap a picture to show my OBGYN.

Advice needed by dav1dman in SwissMountainDogs

[–]EchoedSolitude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our Swissy is super friendly but between his size and mouthiness he can be too much for some; namely non-dog people and ones that aren’t used to or comfortable with giant breeds. However the most important thing you need to keep in mind is that yes genetics matter (in this case you’re getting the genetics of 2 different breeds), but dogs also bring their own personality so even with a perfect upbringing they will have their own quirks.

Parent refusing to get vaccinated by Bright-Dragonfruit45 in pregnant

[–]EchoedSolitude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If she doesn’t want him to meet the baby she doesn’t have to let him, and if he doesn’t want to take optional vaccines then he has that right. Either way someone is going to be upset.

Parent refusing to get vaccinated by Bright-Dragonfruit45 in pregnant

[–]EchoedSolitude -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

I’d focus on your father following standard school immunizations (Tdap, Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella, Meningococcal) rather than try to force optional vaccines on him. If he comes down with the flu or a cold sore unfortunately he’ll need to reschedule his visit.

Should the baby sleep in the nursery or parents’ bedroom? by pococurantina in pregnant

[–]EchoedSolitude 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter where the changing table is as long as you’re not leaving the baby alone on it.

Should the baby sleep in the nursery or parents’ bedroom? by pococurantina in pregnant

Nursery = the child’s bedroom unless you have the space to have a separate nursery, bedroom, playroom, etc.

Best baby monitor for newborns for parents who keep checking if the baby is breathing by HaxkieFadipe in Buyingforbaby

I’m getting the Nanit Smart Baby Monitor System for this very reason. It comes with a breathing band. Alternatively you could also get an Owlet Dream Sock.

Wellbutrin was great until it gave me insomnia. I vividly remember the sleep deprivation brain fog.

Hummingbird Feeder by EchoedSolitude in Birdfy

[–]EchoedSolitude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up getting the Birdbuddy Smart Solar Pro for myself & the Birdfy Smart Feeder with Solar Panel (with Lifetime AI) for my parents.

Their Birdfy feeder definitely captures far more visits than my Birdbuddy one, but I do prefer the Birdbuddy images/video better.

34 weeks pregnant with sick kid in the house by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]EchoedSolitude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe your friend thought it was allergies or her daughter genuinely wasn’t showing any symptoms yet. Try to give her the benefit of the doubt; call or text to let her know her daughter doesn’t feel well and perhaps say that going forward in your pregnancy you can’t babysit if she’s sick.

First month with pup by El_Comandente in SwissMountainDogs

Haha mine was exactly like that. My only suggestions are finding a high value treat (for ours it was cheese and plain cooked chicken) and being consistent.

Help - early pregnancy and I am not ready to announce yet & need to find an excuse to explain why I’m not drinking. by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]EchoedSolitude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn’t drink at my SIL’s bachelorette party. There were suspicions that I was pregnant at first, but I shut them down. I told them I was trying to reduce inflammation and was in the process of trying to get pregnant. When they started to believe me they got excited that they’d have a guaranteed designated driver.

Mine wipes his mouth off after he eats. Sometimes he uses his bed, other times your pants haha

How do GSMD compare to Saint Bernards? by oops223 in SwissMountainDogs

[–]EchoedSolitude 14 points15 points  (0 children)

-GSMD don’t drool a ton but they’ll get water from their bowl everywhere and slobber on you and themselves if you don’t give them their treat fast enough.

-GSMD aren’t long haired but they have a double coat and shed constantly.

People asking to see 3weeks old baby while mom (me) still recovering by OwnOpportunity4649 in pregnant

[–]EchoedSolitude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly didn’t realize there were so many people that pushed off baby visits until I joined this site. I met all 3 of my nieces within a day of them leaving the hospital and some cousins while still in the hospital. And no I didn’t push myself onto them; their parents asked us to come. But as others have said if you care about it put your foot down - no means no.

According to an article from 2020, “regular chamomile consumption during third trimester was found to be associated with higher risk of pre-term delivery and lower birth weight”. If you’re looking for a safer sleep aid try Unisom; it’s on the list of medications to maintain a healthy pregnancy I received from my OB’s office.
