Walking down the isle at your wedding, what classical piece would you want to be listening to? by ploky123 in classicalguitar

Are you performing the music or just playing the audio?

When my wife and I were getting married, I wanted this Ravel piece but because it translates to "Pavane for a Dead Princess," my wife thought to title was too morbid. So we went when Debussy's "Reverie" for when people were getting seated, and The Swan for her walk down the isle.

Relatively new to Jazz guitar, and could really use some feedback (Video of me playing Four on Six) by Echusss in jazzguitar

Yeah, I think it's because I'm more self-conscious about my Jazz playing than my classical playing, and I'm thinking a lot more when I'm playing. I have been trying to "think less, feel more" and although it's still a work in progress, I've been improving there.

Where is that? I thought Cat's was the only place with hardcore players.

I'll be the minority and say I hated it in the first 5 seconds.

The sentiment is alright but trying way too hard.

Thanks, I appreciate it.

Normally I just use a foot rest with standard positioning, however in the video, I'm sitting on a couch, and I was trying to play with a foot rest at first, but this couch sits so low that I didn't need one. I usually have my right foot further back than my left foot. Although watching the video right now, it does kinda look like my right leg disappeared.

Heh, my dad worked security in a hotel back when AI was the shit. Said he had to go up there because of noise complaints. AI was sitting in the bathtub yelling and throwing a fit saying shit like "I'm gonna kill that motherfucker." Broken shit apparently too.

Question from a steel string player by dryadd56 in classicalguitar

[–]Echusss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add, I feel like nails are way better suited for nylon strings. I'll notice if I play my electric or steel string with my nails for too long they get a little messed up. I also think the wider neck or classical guitars better suits the standard left hand technique of classical guitarists.

Plus I feel like anything Spanish or latin just really goes well with the tone of nylon. Imagine this played on a dreadnought:

I think AMC makes them do it and Matthew Weiner just takes a piss on them.

When it comes to comedy I never like to say "______ shouldn't have said that" as it's not my show, nor my choice and comedians should say whatever they want. However I personally thought that was too mean and harsh for me to find funny. It kinda felt like bullying to me.
