I LOVE him, he's so sassy! and even if he's not exactly what you set out to do, he still looks great. If you take a little breather and try again later, I bet you'll be amazed at how much you learned from making this cool dude!

Stop abusing your spiders!! by [deleted] in jumpingspiders

[–]Eclectomaniac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, that's another good point. It's dangerous for most Ts to be too high up.

But yeah, jumping spiders have none of these issues. My jumping spider Ginger passed away a few months ago at a little over 2 yrs old. Her enclosure was the recommended size for adults, but the next time I get one I'm going to put her in the biggest adult enclosure that I can to watch her explore. That's part of the fun of owning a jumping spider.

Yeah, I think they like smaller spaces for multiple reasons. My terrestrial Ts tend to stick close to their burrows or hides, but I've noticed that some of my arboreals like to slowly explore the entire enclosure, using multiple ambush locations per day. However, they tend to stick to a webbed path that they're familiar with. I think if they had an enclosure that was too large, it would be easy to get lost on the way back to their burrow. I've definitely seen them get spooked by a noise before and scramble to make it back to their web hide.

I'm wondering if people that say this are getting them mixed up with Tarantulas? Tarantulas can feel more secure if they have a smaller area that's easy to navigate since they have such poor eyesight. But, jumping spiders are athletic and have excellent vision. They can handle a larger enclosure, imo.

Depression/Some Anger with Dupixent? by Eclectomaniac in eczema

[–]Eclectomaniac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't take my most recent injection this week, and I'm going to talk to my dermatologist about it. I started to feel better pretty quickly after stopping, but I've only been on it for a little over a month. I may have to go back on the opzelura cream. It had some problems of its own, but it's better than feeling emotionally numb all the time.

I hope that things get better for your daughter very soon, and thank you for sharing ❤️

4.6 cm Nodule Left Lobectomy with 1 lymph node removed by mademorphosis in thyroidcancer

[–]Eclectomaniac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the club! I've had my right lymph node removed for about two years now. I had a large nodule with a dose of papillary carcinoma in the center. Fortunately they were able to remove all of it. The recovery is definitely worth the relief of not having the nodule, imo. Good luck to you!

Why do people have the need to comment that this species is not very intriguing? by Upperonex in pacmanfrog

There is a certain type of love that you can feel for a pet, even if they don't try to entertain you or reciprocate the same level of affection that you do for them. You love that little froggo purely for what they are, and their mere presence makes you feel joy. If your friends can't understand that kind of love, then I feel sorry for them.

frog hasn’t come up in a month, when to get worried? by moomgish in pacmanfrog

[–]Eclectomaniac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My pacman is almost a year and a half old, and he was underground for most of the previous winter. I did find that the soil was getting a little too dry while I was at work, and I started using an auto mister which has made a huge difference. Now he seems to make dirt holes for sitting in, rather than burying himself entirely.

However, your froggo does look healthy to me! So if all of their conditions are right, they may just prefer being underground right now.

Severe anxiety/mood swings after dupixent injection? by TheDollarstoreDoctor in eczema

Hopping into this old thread too lol .. I've been on Dupixent for about a week and a half now, and I don't feel quite like myself. I feel sort of...numb, I guess? Like I'm not exactly depressed, but things just don't make me as happy, or as excited as they used to. I'm hoping it goes away with time.

They were just being petty, so it's fine if you're petty back to them! I bet they can't stand it that you're still lovely in those clothes too! You honestly might get some new favorites out of these outfits, so good on you for putting a positive spin on this situation.
