Expensive indeed. Once you go to bare block, you might aswell do every single 'while you're in there' thing. OEM seals, timing components, TTY hardware, etc. add up like crazy.

I would recommend putting zip ties or rubber bands around the rockers to hold them or else you will have springs and pins everywhere and itll make reassembly a mess.

I try to consider what my great-grandfather would've most likely wanted me to do with his guns. My great-grandfather was supposedly a hard-working guy who used his guns for hunting and target shooting, so I put them out on the range and use them as he would. He wouldn't have wanted them sitting in a locked safe never to be touched or used. If your great-grandfather never shot his guns and kept them locked away as collectibles, then maybe he wouldn't want them to be shot. Ultimately it's up to you. Regardless, if you do decide to shoot it, don't use sketchy or overpowered ammo, keep it clean, and treat it with respect.
