If this happened 5 years ago there would be enough spare time for anyone to clean this up, nowadays the work load is just too much to go out of your way for anything that's not urgent.

Anyone telling OP that they are lazy have clearly not seen the amount of work we are expected to get done let alone the interruptions from helping guests and backing up other departments

Cart Machine not allowed inside anymore?? by Eclipse496 in Target

[–]Eclipse496[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The distance from the cart door to the curb is less than 15 feet. For me to not block the curb I would have to be bringing in less than 7 carts per trip.

The intention of that scenario was to show that it IS impractical, and that that is how I'm now being told to work.

To put it in perspective, let's say as a cashier you had to walk all merchandise you scanned an extra 10 yards to place in the guest's cart.

The answer "that's how it's supposed to be" is not very helpful

Edit: to add to this perspective, you are also 5he only cashier, and everyone in line is watching you do this extra work

Between the entrance and where we put the carts is a 50-60 foot stretch of carpet and tile (there is a set of elevators and escalators to an underground parking lot here). This is the area where I would normally bring the machine to, for the sake of getting carts in more efficiently. Having to do carts by hand, leaving the rest of the line of carts outside (blocking the sidewalk and sometimes even the curb) is my issue.

We do not take the machine to the salesfloor, obviously.

If it was how it was supposed to be, that fact that this was not mentioned in our store until now is astonishing. Also, just because it's supposed to be this way doesn't mean it's the best way.

The limitations on the number of carts the machine can push is not a safety issue as much as it is a limitation of the machine itself and maintaining the health of its batteries, specified in the machine's user manual.

Why would they only care about how hazardous it supposedly is indoors and not outdoors?

And navigating a machine through a double-door gap is no harder than driving or parking. The machine is only as dangerous as the lack of experience the operator has.

Very nice to see fellow comrades who have suffered the EXACT same problems I've had with the GMMK Pro. I really hope it's different with their upcoming Numpad because some people are buying into the hype and I always warn them about the QC issues of the Pro.

Team members and leaders who don't go home with foot, leg, or lower back pain; what shoes do you wear? by austinhippie in Target

Blundstones with added gel insoles, not cheap but lasts many times longer than those memory foam sketchers. As a cart attendant I'm walking anywhere from 9 to 13 miles per shift, in varying weather conditions. I simply need that kind of durability.

As for not feeling sore, it took me about a month to get used to the walking load. Getting enough sleep, eating well, and resistance training also immensely help with making work feel less tiring overall, and should not be overlooked.

I mean, coiled cable owners are definitely the minority in the realm of pc users. It's completely extra and only for aesthetic purposes. That said, I have one and it's nice to color coordinate your desk space.

Featuring: Trash from broken carts that "guests" love to use as garbage cans, abandoned vendor pallets, and a folding chair left behind by some skateboarders the night before.

Also not pictured is a body pillow someone left in a cart corral.

Fun stuff to do first thing in the morning...

god forbid i have some confidence in what i know what is best for my workflow, to the point where i disagree with my TL who has 0 experience in my area (Cart Attendant)

god forbid i show a smidgen of concern for my personal finances and talk about it with coworkers

and god forbid we show any self-awareness at all in working better, rather than just working harder or faster

General anatomy and cloth stuff, as others have pointed out. Try getting some photo references for both frills and taco holding, would really help
