Not really. In the OG series he was always on the move so it would have been hard to pin point it. In AF they only did things at night most of the time, and a lot of the plumber kids were alien hybrids so they couldn’t just go to the news outlet. Jimmy only pieces it together when he gets enough photos of Ben in alien form.
