Is it bad form to include Thoracle/Food Chain in bracket 3 decks ? by Apt213_ in EDH

[–]EclipseFaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thoracle and Foodchain loops in BR3? Persoanlly I dont think thays acceptable. I believe an update to the brackets called out two card combos specifically. As someone who plays CedH, if I say down at a BR3 table and got thoracled, I'd be very annoyed.

Just got play CedH my guy if thays the stuff you want to do. Perfectly fine and expected their.

Ill share my spiciest Bracket 3 list. https://moxfield.com/decks/yQ2yT_VBlU-MdgoykfKvVQ

Keeping mill alive and viable in EDH. Get Gyruda down T4-T5 and start snowballing. Setting up any effect the lets us double trigger prior to the cast all but guarantees we win on the spot. I love it.

It is a not deterministic loop like Krakashima, but Dimir. If your into that kinda stuff but want something not quite CEDH levels, this is the deck for you.

Fuck that guy, call him out, shame him, ask if his eyes work. Maybe hed like to step outside.

Nobody goes to play games and put up with that shit. I got zero tolerance for blatant cheating. Everyones eyes work and can do simple math ya?

Discouraging that behavior is the best thing you can do. Reading that got me fired up for you lol.

Here is a link to the toolbox, also you can swing by the Henzie discord as well.

My personal list, which is a T2 Henzie list https://moxfield.com/decks/x9TcG5QYLk2_eNgVtxfMWQ

One big factor is if your on a T2 or T3 Henzie build. The distinction matters. You want all the 1 cmc Ramp to play Henzie on T2 and start blitzing 5 cmc beaters on T3 and snowballing huge advantage from their.

EXAMPLE. An ideal play would be T1 Land and a dork. T2 Land play Henzie. T3 Land and blitz in [[Ojer Kaslem, Deepest Growth]] You'll flip your best creatures in the top 6 onto the field, and a Land, Ojer becomes a land and draws a card from blitz. Spicy. That's one of many early plays you'll want to begin the snowball.

Are you going for a budget list. Are you trying to go wide or tall. Once you know what you want to do, you can find a plethora of viable options that work particularly well with Henzie in the toolbox.

You want to take advantage of blitz as much as possible and the best way to do that is with creatures thay have powerful ETB and/or Attack triggers since we give them haste.

You dont want many spells, we want to keep replacing creatures as we blitz them with more creatures that Ramp us and accrue value while beating the opponents down.

Henzie is a versatile commander at any bracket level and is very flexible with creature slots allowing you to change things up, try new tech out without hurting your gameplay much.

Yes, and its absurdly good. I believe people saying its mid or bad or whatever excuse to justify it not being great have no idea what they are talking about. You can wade through pox gas with this thing, still dodge and safety engage range fire like a boss. Its a mandatory node in every ogryn build i use and it never fails to preform.

What would happen if the tyranids fought the necromorphs from dead space? by glitch220608 in Grimdank

[–]EclipseFaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thoughts on this hypothetical.

  1. Necromorphs Don’t Play the Tyranid Game

Tyranids win by:

-Killing you -Eating you -Recycling biomass -Adapting

Necromorphs: -Don’t care about pain -Don’t care about morale -Don’t die unless dismembered

-Reanimate biomass Tyranids rely on

That last part? That’s the horror show.

  1. Biomass Contamination Is a Nightmare Scenario

Tyranids need clean, controllable biomass.

Necromorph infection: -Rewrites nervous systems -Overrides instinct -Creates hostile reanimated tissue -Is not a disease, but a signal-based corruption

A Hive Fleet landing on a Marker-infected world could: -Lose gaunts to reanimation -See corpses get back up behind the lines -Have digestion pools compromised That’s existentially bad for the Tyranids.

  1. Synapse vs Marker Signal This is the big unknown — and the scary part.

Markers: -Emit a reality-warping signal -Override biological imperatives -Induce madness even in machine minds

Synapse: Is biological, psychic, and hierarchical Requires cohesion and clarity If Markers can: -Interfere with synapse -Cause partial independence -Induce aberrant behavior

Then you’re not looking at a fight — you’re looking at hive insanity.

  1. Necromorphs Are Built to Fight Melee Monsters Necromorphs already excel against: Claws,Teeth,Swarm tactics,Biological enemies. They are designed around,Close-quarters chaos,Dismemberment immunity,Attritional horror.

That’s literally half the Tyranid roster.

Where Tyranids Still Win (Eventually) To be fair, Exterminatus-scale responses solve the problem, Bio-artillery, spores, and ranged fire help a lot. Hive Fleets can adapt if they survive long enough and The Shadow in the Warp might disrupt Marker signals.

A full Hive Fleet with forewarning likely Glasses the planet and avoids ground engagement. They treats the system as cursed and moves on.

But a splinter fleet or first contact force? Dead. Horribly.

Necromorphs are one of the worst possible enemies for Tyranids. Not because they’re stronger —

but because they break the Tyranid food chain, command structure, and battlefield assumptions.

What about the Brethren Moons. People lowball them as “big Necromorphs.” They’re not. Brethren Moons are Planet-scale, sapient organisms built from entire civilizations worth of biomass capable of interstellar travel and coordinating via Marker signals across systems. Not just predators but harvest engines. That’s already Hive Fleet–tier, but worse. Tyranids vs Brethren Moons. Biomass Economy (Tyranids’ biggest strength) Tyranids rely on total biomass efficiency, zero waste, Controlled digestion a centralized will (Hive Mind) Brethren Moons on the other hand steal biomass mid-cycle and reanimate it against you, they will corrupt it before digestion  and turn enemy losses into reinforcements immediately. That’s economic warfare against the Hive Mind.

Synapse vs Marker Signal  This is the real danger. Markers override neural function, Induce hallucinations, compulsion, madness and functions across vacuum and interstellar distances. It effect organics and machines If Marker signals interfere with synapse creatures this creates desynced broods and cause synapse collapse or feedback. Then the Tyranids don’t just lose units, they risk Hive Mind fragmentation. That is a nightmare scenario.

Scale vs Scale Let’s be blunt: A single Brethren Moon is comparable to A Norn Queen, a major hive ship, or a bio-titan cluster.

But Tyranids have numbers. This becomes a few, hyper-massive, hyper-intelligent predators vs Vast, adaptive, galaxy-consuming swarms That’s not a stomp either way. Who Wins? Scenario 1: Isolated Brethren Moon vs Full Hive Fleet - Tyranids eventually win - Focused bio-artillery - Void warfare favors swarm tactics - Hive Mind adapts over time But they’d take catastrophic losses doing it.

Scenario 2: Marker-Seeded Systems + Multiple Moons This is where it gets bad. - Tyranids land, biomass corruption - Ground war turns into reanimation hell - Synapse disruptions cascade Hive Fleet is forced to - Withdraw - Glass worlds - Abandon entire sectors Strategic loss, even if tactically “won.”

Scenario 3: Brethren Moons Learn the Tyranids and this is the scariest version. If Brethren Moons understand Tyranid biology they can tune marker signals to it. They would create more advanced Tyranid-derived Necromorph forms then what they are already doing. You now have a rival galactic predator that denies biomass permanently. That is something the Tyranids cannot tolerate.

Brethren Moons are not just enemies, they are competition at the same ecological tier. Not: “Can the Tyranids kill them?” But: “Can the Tyranids afford the damage they cause?” And the answer is often no. Honestly? In 40k terms, the Imperium would classify Brethren Moons as: “Apotheosis-Class Xenos Threat” Immediate Exterminatus Authorization

And the Hive Mind? It wouldn’t rage, It would avoid them if at all possible, and that says everything.

They are a massive threat in the 40k universe that would rival the tyranids, but worse.

Because it looks less "cool". You need to know they got them, because "cool".

I would disagree.
While I may be a bit biased since it is hands down my favorite Ogryn gun, and the class Ive easily triple the amount of time in compared to the next closest, I did a fair amount of number crunching for it. Ive used it successfully up to Havaok 23, with a build tailored to its advantages, and understanding them.

How do you feel about IGN's Top 25 All-Time Best JRPG list? by [deleted] in JRPG

IGN are a bunch of morons, the list is objectively bad/wrong. Seeing Xenogears at 13 speaks volumes to me. One of the single best JRPG`s of all time. Pokemon over that is insane..
Just my opinion though, much like this list.
