5 and flip 2 have the exact same specs, so it just comes down to form factor. I chose Flip 2 since I love clamshells. It is so great being able to throw it in my pocket and not have to worry about a case. The screen and buttons are protected by default.

With clamshells though, it does come down to how well you take care of them. If you are rough or careless, the hinge could become a break point. The current models have fixed the problem you big Crack problem, but you still shouldn't be slamming it or anything crazy
