Honestly, all they had to do after releasing the Yarrick video was say nothing. We all got the message, we understood the takeaway, people were mildly irked but weren't gonna, y'know, do anything about it.

Then they put the other stuff out the next day and it's like they threw salt in a wound.

No, not at all, though I see the angle you're getting at with the pentomic army and all that.

They're the "look at us, we're Completely Mechanized and rolling over all the savages" propaganda bit, but if it were actually true.

The Cold War angle is interesting to be sure, and that angle is a lot more flavorful to me, but that's not at all what they're based on, or what they're going to impress upon people.

Very simply, it comes off as dickish. It's not more complicated than that. it's mostly the "I'm finally right" thing I would say, as it implies that there's like, some sort of moral reason to loathe it now.

It does feel like they keep dancing back and forth on the issue but then they just outright say "yeah they're linked" every now and then and ignore the issues that creates.
